Protests in Nigeria as well as in other climes have presented itself as the only language those in authority, employers of labour among others seem to understand.

While observers and those in governance have hailed the resilience, perseverance exhibited by the #EndSARS protesters, I will add that how I wish this national and global campaign on #EndSARS brutality in Nigeria that has forced the President and Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu to act by dissolving the infamous sub unit of the force, the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), would be extended to other facets of the economy begging attention and immediate action.

Nigerians cannot stop now, having forced the IGP to end SARS brutality. Other issues like: embezzlement of funds meant for the overall development of the nation, failure of representatives at National and State Assemblies to deliver the dividends of democracy, kidnapping, insurgency, banditry among others should also face mass protest while the hashtag that kept the social media awash be applied immediately.

SARS brutality no doubt, may have impeded the development of Nigeria as a nation especially by virtue of the fact that men of this outfit derailed in their duties. On the other hand, there should be immediate campaign on bad governance, including call for resignation of non-performing office holders as well as those that failed to put smiles on the faces of their constituents just as call for the President to act by equipping security agencies to end all forms of insecurity in the country is also germane.

As the campaign against the brutality meted out to Nigerians by SARS operatives has paid off, it is expected that all the energy and attention should immediately shift to other identified problems in the country worse than SARS brutality so that the country will be liberated from all vices impeding development.

Nigerians should not jubilate for too long concerning the dissolution of SARS, because no one is sure of the new policing arrangements and the calibre of Police Officers that will form part of it to address the offences of armed robbery and other violent crimes that fall within the mandate of the dissolved Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
