Lol...Buhari wan kukuma finish Tinubu. Na lie, na Buhari (and likely Tinubu) order the massacre. Kipkwayet!

Sanwo-Olu initially quipped that it was due to 'forces beyond their (States) control' so what does that tell you? cry

Guys now the truth is gradually coming out. Do you guys noticed that all the reasons the Nigerian Army gave actually happened after the Lekki Shootings? Can we confidently say that all the prison and jail breaks were orchestrated by the government so they can hide the truth.

BREAKING: Army denies shooting #EndSARS protesters

The 81 Division of the Nigerian Army (NA) has denied allegation soldiers opened fire on #ENDSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza last Tuesday.

In a statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations (ADPR), Major Osoba Olaniyi, the Division however confirmed the involvement of soldiers in restoring order in Lagos following the declaration of curfew by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Nation reports this is the first time the division is speaking about the incident that occurred last week.

It said: “The attention of Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army has been drawn to a viral video on social media in which it was alleged that civilian protesters were massacred by soldiers at Lekki Toll Plaza. This allegation is untrue, unfounded and aimed at causing anarchy in the country.

“At no time did soldiers of the Nigerian Army open fire on any civilian. From the onset of the ENDSARS protest, there was no time personnel of 81 Division Nigerian Army Lagos were involved.

“However, the decision to call in the military was taken by the Lagos State Government (LASG) after a 24- hour curfew was imposed.

This was as a result of the violence which led to several police stations being burnt, policemen killed, suspects in police custody released and weapons carted away.

“The situation was fast degenerating into anarchy. It was at this point that LASG requested for the military to intervene in order to restore normalcy.

“The intervention of the military followed all laid down procedures for Internal Security operations and all the soldiers involved acted within the confines of the Rules of Engagement (ROE) for Internal Security operations.

“Finally, Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army reiterates Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities did not shoot at any civilian as there are glaring and convincing evidence to attest to this fact.

“This allegation is the hand work of mischief makers who will stop at nothing to tarnish the image of the Nigerian Army. The general public is hereby enjoined to discountenance this allegation as there is no iota of truth therein.”

The protesters at Lekki toll gate was peaceful...infact the whole Island was peaceful.

Most of the initial minor unrest was happening on the mainland.

So as we can see Sanwo-olu with the permission of Buhari invited the Army to Lekki to distrup the peaceful protesters because Tinubu and Sanwo-olu saw that they were losing money from the Lekki toll gate being held up by the peaceful protesters

SanwoOlu never denied inviting the military. Every State Governor upon declaring curfew invites the military. SanwoOlu said he is not the CiC in relation to the army's rules of engagement - in other words he invited them but he never expected live bullets to be part of their antiriot arsenal.

This is why you shouldn't use army to quell riots or protests. Police should be more equipped and better trained to use water cannons, teargas, rubber bullets etc. If you invite army, they come with live bullets.

The rioting started after the shooting, not before.

Many people here are so sentimental, or let me say, kids. They couldn't even remember sequence of events. So shallow minded illiterates claiming educated.
The shootings lead to violent protests which, then , army was invited to return normalcy, The spoke man, ran away from what happened before the riots and the lekki shootings and some idiots fell for it. Gosh.

immediately the governor denied any casualty from the shooting on a national TV just to paint himself Saint, I knew he is trying hard to defend his action for inviting the army to intervene.
dialogue would have been the best option to quench the already escalated angers. well the deed had been done, now everyone is on a damage control level, the NA, Lagos state government are all trying to sell their own side of the story to us. the army really played into the hands of the Lagos state government
but I believe there is more revelation on the way as we keep our fingers crossed.

So Sanwo Olu lied?
The man's psychological make-up must be thoroughly investigated,if the army's version of events is true.
No wonder he has been trying to save face by admitting the army was involved and quickly reopening all markets.
A senile man leading Nigeria and one with a likely psychiatric history leading Lagos,a fatal combination
Ambode warned lagosians. He said sanwoolu was a criminal and had undergone series of rehabs. Now we can see. It's unfortunate we are having this kind of clean liar in government...sanwoolu and Tinubu, birds of same feather. Forget all the running upandan all in the name of being nice. Na damage control dem dey call am grin. You can inagine sanwoolu saying he spent btw 100k and 1m naira treating just one covid-19 patients daily.

To the military, I knew they'd deny killing people. If they could deny killing the police men who went to arrest wadume, even after taking wadume to their barracks and cutting off his and cuff, asking him go freely, I knew they could do anything. They're worse than terrorists.
