donphilopus: It's true u observed. But US doesn't and will not support anyone with dual citizenship. US want Ngozi to denounce her Nigeria passport and only be a US citizen but she's not ready to let go of Nigeria citizenship. That's the reason why US won't support her. 1 Like |

Kingspin:Everything Yoruba and Muslims...you Igbos are insane. Most of the terrorists attacks and plots happening in the US doesn't even involve Muslims. The population of some Muslim countries is mostly made up of immigrants- the highest rates in the world. So where did you get that silly lie that America has welcomed more Muslims I just hope your Biafra is achieved so we can finally kick you out of the SW and other nations should follow suite- they need to fight criminals too from entering their country. |

tartar9:Hello!, America and the West have welcomed more Muslims than the fellow Muslim countries themselves. I stayed in a Muslim govern country and many of the top rich and middle class schooled, schooling or dream is to go America and Europe. The whole fight between Iran and America yet their citizen are all over America and Europe. In fact they love American product especially the iPhone. Come to think of it. AMERICA, the WEST gave them citizenship and rights ordinary their home can not offer them. But them no born you well for Muslims to offer stranger citizenship. And many other factual issues. And again the same Trump you try to castigate delivered ventilators and other aids to Nigeria. Hope you're aware. Then why would Buhari send soldiers to kill people at Lekki next day it becomes an ipob issue. Pls learn to say something accordingly, I see many NLander do that. Realize how to separate issue. Don't bring A and B together just to make a point. Unfortunate. That the way it is. Leave, Igbo, Biafra matter this is not the topic. For a threat to leave your West, If I can leave Nigeria, how much more part of Nigeria. One Nigeria indeed. 1 Like |

membranus: You dont know jerk, Boss! "Vote Manipulations" can be LEGAL and some are illegal. The illegal ones take you to Jail, the Legal ones, nobody can do a thang about. Example: You can "lagally" manipulate the tax laws so that you can be a Billionaire like Trump and still pay $750 annual tax, far less than a street Sweeper pays. That is legal manipulation. Or How do you explain a Billionaie paying #750 annual Tax, when Wesley Snipes, a Black man, was sent to jail, his career ruined, for paying less tax (though he still paid Millions of Dollars annualy) than he was supposed to pay? Now look at it, in states tha he needs to pick a few Delegates, and he knows the majority of Voters wont Vote for him, he simple employs "legal manipulations" like Slowing down the arrival of their Ballots (remove most Ballot boxes and leave one for 2million people, in a 30Miles Radius! How many voters want to make a 30Mile journey in cold weather, under Corona Virus, to drop a Ballot or wait in-line for 8hrs to vote? Most Blacks will simply not Vote, giving trump an advantage to pick his delegates.! He knows he will never win the most /Popular Vote so he is betting on the Electoral College to do it for him again, just like in 2016 He just got a Supreme Court Order that says Votes that arrive after counting Starts on election day (even if they were posted five days ago before election day) should notbe counted. WHY? Reason is that he sees that most Democrats want to Vote by "Mail-in -ballot". He simply changed the head of the Postal Service, asked him to throw away most of the Sorting machines at the Postal Service, all in an effort to SLOW DOWN the arrival of Mail-in Ballots so that most of them will not meet the deadline. Result: Millions of Democrats will vote but majortiy of their ballots will not count because "they will be made to arrive late". Legal manipulation 2 Again, he knows most Blacks, due to the UNJUST Justice System in the USA, have one offense or misdemeanour against their name. He knows that the police issue arrests on Blacks, far more than on Whites. He challenged a Court rulling which would have allowed such people to Vote... he knows they would be voting Democrats. Result: Most Democrat-leaning people cannot vote. Legal Manipulation, It is called Voter Suppression but when done by a crafty person like Trump, it can be "legal", especially now that he has quickly rushed another Justice on the Supreme Court, using his Republic Rogues in the Senate. Now, legally, he will begin to manipulate "Judgements" from a 6-3 Supreme Court that he appointed three of the Judges, ensuring they are Judges whose ideology agrees with is own. Manipulation of the Supreme Court Judgements, but Legal. Infact, the level of "Legal" but unsavoury Manipulation" going-on in the US right now, is more than what PDP and APC combined, have done in all their years since 1999. 1 Like |

Jdbrasco2: Are you kidding me? Which DOOM? You people just give too much credit to this fading World Power and it is Trump that is accelerating the fading of such Power. Did the WHO die? Did the UN die? Did the Iran-Deal group die? Who gave US the $7Billion Judgement? An American Court? The US is just trying to stifle the growth of China, slow it down a bit because it knows it cant stop it and China is destined to be the World Super-Power in less than fifty Years from now. Take that to the bank. The world is changing, America being the ONLY Super Power will not last long, China, Russia, Canada, Germany are building up ans coperating. Rome, UK, Turkey, USSR, were once World Powers, Empires to be Precise, today, they are "Turkeys". |

So you mean after Aunty Ngozi Iweala went and got her naturalized U.S citizenship, America is still not backing her? Wow! Why am I not surprised? By the way, where are all those Nigerian azz lickers here on Nairaland who love America and trump more than they love their own father and mother? I guess the azz licking and ball sucking never paid of, lol. Nigerians will learn las las that white Americans and whites in general no send them message no matter how much they worship oyibo, are enamored by them and stupidly support the oyibo's white supremacy agenda. NOI was selected by 104 out of the 164 member states but WTO election is by consensus not majority vote also a veto from any member state can block the consensus, They are still in the consensus stage and the US plans to block her emergence Which means a vote maybe the only option left Make no mistake this isn't about Nigeria or NOI Its about ideologies and trade war NOI is a pro trade (liberalist) economist While trump is a protectionist and as such will block any liberalist Also the best bet of neutralizing China's influence on world trade is the south Korea n NOI on the other side will not take orders from neither Abuja nor Washington and of course cannot be tamed.that makes her a bad candidate based on US interest |

This is why Joe Biden must win the election next week. Trump and his people worked to stop Akinwunmi Adesina but God made them fail. Same will happen this time Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will win the WTO by the grace of God 1 Like |

Trump would have lost the election by then. Trump does not like black people especially when they are in leadership positions. That is all what this is about. |

vivaciousvivi:There must be some middle-ground, otherwise the WTO will be as chaotic as it is now. The US contributes about 12% to the WTO, making them the highest financial donor....You can't let go that kind of cash. |
Re: #WTO-DG: Okonjo-Iweala Suggested As New WTO Chief, But US Vetoes by fergie001: 7:59am On Oct 29, 2020 |
BennyDGreat:I agree partly.... I am also aware racism exists but I don't really want to clothe this with that toga. I know the Nigeria Govt as well don't have the local and international goodwill atm, but we have to continue to try. The US have consistently, under Trump, favoured bilateral trades and the Eastern Africans (Kenya, especially) have no problem with that deep down. The heads of UNCTAD, IPU & WHO are all Eastern Africans...all these international bodies are in Switzerland, so maybe they know one or two things about International politics, other parts of Africa don't. The EU also midwifed the AFCFTA for the purpose of low tariff on imports, free trade, multilateral trading, etc..something Kenya is a signatory to but went ahead to negotiate deals with the US outside of the body, the reason why Amina Mohammed wasn't supported by the EU. Trump's major reason is that NOI is seen as been close to the top echelons of Washington-politics and in turn the Democratic Party. Trump's argument is that NOI will carry out their bidding, which is indirectly allowing "China" economically over-run the Asia-Pacific & the globe. He sees them as globalists or what they call internationalists. This is because NOI is for multilateral trading just like Yoo...so for Trump, it is simply politics. Perhaps, he needs some assurances because the WTO cannot go ahead without the US on board. The WTO must create some concessions for the US, a few assurances here and there (which must not include the position of the amiable DG-in-waiting), then hopefully we can bounce back to where we should be. 2 Likes |

One4me: Oga thanks for the turenchi. Remember 66 millions have already voted and their votes have arrived at the destination, which is a record. Many are still voting early to crush the mealy mouthed racist a week to the real date, and their votes will count. So friend, despite all his desperate vote manipulation shenanigans, your hero Trump, by this time next week will be going out of office. And he will be beaten black and blue by a wide margin never seen in an American presidential election. And sadly he will take a lot republican congressmen and senators with him to political oblivion. Mark my words. 1 Like |

TlOver to you people that see America as your alpha and Omega and Trump as your god. You see how your god is treating you like shit now? Continue being their slaves and see how they'll be making mock of you. But in Sha Allah, NOI will prevail with or without American support because in God we trust and on HIM we rely |
