Lol, he's actually telling the truth!

The truth is, there is no unity in this country whatsoever, even in the same state with the same tribe / ethnic.

Most Efiks feel that most akwa ibomites should go back to Akwa ibom. in fact that is one of the reason the state split .if you are old enough you'll know ibibio and annang were often harassed to go back to Uyo or ikot ekpene Though we all united against the central and northern cross river back then but within there was never unity. these issues must be addressed and settled once and for all. the akwa ibom government should to towards moving their people back home . that is the reality of the situation.
and the view of Efiks towards Ibibios and annang has nothing to do with oil or road . a similar situation would be Japan vs China . did you know even though China is now very developed Japanese still look down on Chinese. it's a historical and traditional thing not really about oil or roads.

After Lagos, the richest state in Nigeria is Rivers.

If you want to join Akwa Ibom do so nobody is stopping you. Go bother you local representatives about the issue. It's not Akwa Iboms governments place to force the issue. If this was the point of the thread there's no need to whine your personal feelings.

The nicest thing about Aguleri and Umuleri is that even at your primary school, you read the story like me.

And we keep sharing the story. The essay has gone long and become history.

Respect to that...

you dont read. who wants to join akwa ibom? That will never happen. listen even if akwa ibom and southern cross river are made regions,we efiks will always preferto stay on our own . that's the truth. Most Efiks want Akwa ibom people escially ibibio and annang to leave Calabar and Cross river and go back to their states. All Efiks would agree with me on that one . I said Akwa ibom government should work towards relocating akwa ibomite scattered around the country doing menial jobs and prostitution etc back to Akwa ibom. Not all but most .

Lol your feelings are inconsequential since you cant force anyone to leave. All you can do is whine on nairaland for catharsis. It's not Akwa Ibom responsibility to chase free people. The same way you left return back. Lol only the beachbum talks this foolishly.

Lol it's hilarious when you know the actual history behind the events. The government took akwa ibom to court then lost everything. This was after losing oil well to Cameroon. The clown Ben Ayade is still crying about the issue currently.

Lol , There's no such things as whining or feeling in a general collectivism . this thread is for discussion. People can be forced to leave. Donald Duke sent many Akwa ibomites away from Calabar. Most Efiks still feel most Akwa ibom should be sent away from Calabar and that's the fact.
there are many ways to send people away. 1 . expel them from university of Calabar or CRUTECH and reduce or refuse admission to akwa ibomites, 2. expel them from the civil service and other jobs 3. refuse to rent to them. 4. demolish their homes with an excuse that a road will be built there. etc.
the rest of your ramblings about imaginary figures you are obsessed with is dumb and not worth a reply.

Yawn you're whining like a wounded animal. If they can force them to leave bother your representatives to do so. Crying on nairaland isnt the solution.

1. The university of calabar is a federal University mumu.

2. Lol that's probably not legal but do so.

3. Lol you think the landlords care about your feeling when they're looking for profits.

4. Lol you're going have to demolish all surrounding houses and compensate thousands which the stste too broke to do. Only an idiot will wake up and advocate the destruction of their economy.

Calabar has a very rich history, could you tell us how the ancient city came about?

The city of Calabar is made up of three tribes – the Qua, Efik and Efut. The Qua people (also known as Ejagam), migrated from Mba-Akang, where everybody in the Ejagam stalk, in the Southern Cameroon, tapped their mineral resources from in order to add value to their economic sustenance. It was then difficult for everybody to tap their resources from the same source when they needed them and it got to a point that it became a rotational issue. It led to an economic crunch. For that reason, the struggle made a lot of the Ejagam people to expand far and wide. The expansion extended from Southern Cameroon to Central Africa, South Africa and West Africa. Majority of the expansion settled around the Cross River Basin, which starts from Obanliku and descends to Bakassi. In the 18 local government areas of Cross River State, you have people of the Ejagam stalk. For those of us who came to Calabar, available records by archaeologists have confirmed that the Ejagam people have been in Calabar since about 900 AD. By implication, it means we have been in Calabar for close to 1,400 years. When we came, we saw the land fertile and good for residential purpose. We stayed and spread ourselves into the different areas of the ancient city. Every Ejagam person did not come as a single family; so, we had a situation where we had various families spread across the land. We have the Akim, Big Qua, Kasuk, Ikpai-Omin, Ikpai-Ohum, Ediba, Nyanghasang, Nkonib, Eta-Nkpinghi, Bakoko, Okpan (known as Odukpani) and Akim-Akim. On the other side leading to Ikang, we have the Ifiang, and Idundu, among others. All these areas have the ancestral totem with them. We have grown in all these places and administered ourselves for a long time before the colonial masters came. The second group that settled in Calabar was the Efut people. They happen to be part of the Bantu stalk who also migrated because of the same struggle for economic survival and when they met the Qua people on the ground, they got our approval to occupy the area that is today known as Calabar South. After some time, the Efik people came in from Uruan area of the present day Akwa Ibom State. They (Efik) initially settled in Creek Town until the time that the twin birth was to be abrogated. When it was still a taboo for a woman to give birth to twins, the daughter of the then Efik king had relationship with an Efut king that stayed within the Creek Town, and she gave birth to twins. They wanted to save the babies, that was how the uncle to those children helped to pick their mother and took them to the creeks of the Qua land. The area is called Nse Ntanda, which means the mangrove forest. The water shores of Calabar are all guarded by mangrove trees- that was where these babies grew up and became adults. They developed the skills of paddling canoe, fishing and swimming. In one of the attempts to fish into the bigger water from the creek, they paddled and crossed from the other shore of the Calabar River to the areas where they are found today in Calabar. By the time they crossed, they knew they had got to the real river known in Efik land as Ata Akpa. When they came, they met the Qua people who were still doing their hunting and farming work. The Qua people close to them referred to the Efik people as Abakpa, coined from Bakpa, which means ‘Come here’. When they continuously saw the affirmative signal indicating that they should come close, they approached the people and told them (Qua people) that they had found the environment as a good one and requested to settle here. They were given the permission to settle along the creeks for their economic survival, since they were fishermen. These three tribes have developed over the years within Calabar since 1734 when the Efik people crossed in. We have continued to survive cordially still. The reason for the peaceful co-existence is because the three tribes know their boundaries and where they control. Although outsiders may be looking for ways to incite us, because we have principles that guide us, we do not give room for that. This is the story of Calabar.
