Whenever I remember The Rock, the first name that comes to my mind is Ed Harris. Though he died and his role was kinda limited, he had the stand-out performance IMO. One of my all time favourite movie scenes (the confrontation between the Marines & the Navy Seals and the massacre that followed) is also from this movie. . .as in, that part baaaad! @ topic Law Abiding Citizen [2009]. So apart to dey do like ''dindinrin'' for film, Gerard Butler fit act bad guy role . Cool movie, I go give am 6.5/10. Someone should help me ID this film. . .It was set in the era of World War 2. In the movie, Ed harris was a high-ranking Nazi Army Officer and an expert sniper/marksman and was in a battle of wits with a Russian sniper. Wetin be the name of the movie? cos na only the last 20mins or so I see for TV and I bin wan download am to watch now. . . . . |

@iice, I have not seen Super8 yet but your question about the way it was, I guess what you mean is also the reason it actually hs that title? |
Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by obinna5000(m): 7:05am On Jun 16, 2011 |
@Vieira The title has to do with the Super 8 camera used by the kids in the film. |

obinna5000:Not exactly Vieira:Nah. . .i think you can take the movie as it seems or as it may seem lol. I don't wanna spoil it for you. I know someone who will get a kick out of the movie = Vesc |

@iice I've read the synopsis of the film already. I'm not saying the movie is about Super 8 cameras, but it was used by the kids in the film. I'm sure 'Super 8' will remind me of classic films like 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', 'The Goonies' and 'E.T.' |
Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by iice(f): 8:32am On Jun 16, 2011 |
Errrh yeah we know they used cameras in making their film. Yes it has that goonies/e.t vibe maybe because of the setting. Real retro lol. It's kinda cool to see little kids trying to make movies |

@topic: Hangover 2. Didn't watch part 1 but this is one heck of a cringe-worthy film. Almost died of laughter one or two times, but I won't be watching it again, noooo way @half-watched X-men First Class. This is the first X-Men movie I'm actually enjoying. Never finished an X-men film before: this might be the first one I'll be seeing the end credits |

@Emmz It's the same Green Lantern. I'm not having high hopes for it anyway. I don't want to end up being disappointed. |

Vieira: obinna5000: Nah Obinna and Vieira my Ryan Reynolds will not let me down. Seeing is believing. I have been waiting since 2010. Sometimes listening to critics aint so good. I remember hangover 2 being said to produce forced laughters. I havent seen it yet but people that have seen it seem to say its as hilarious as part1. |

City Lights I just finished watching this movie for the third time in this month and wow what a great movie is it. Charlie Chaplin was a great comedian and everybody knows that but it this movie along with some great comedy you get to watch some amazing story of romance with emotions and love . In those days there was no sound at all in the movies and the actors have to perform very well in order to convey their messages to the viewers and every single artist in this movie did it beautifully. Virginia Cherrill portrayed the character of blind girl beautifully. On the whole this movie is great and I recommend it to everyone especially who likes classics and comedy. I give it 10/10 . Karate Kid (New version). Loved it! Will Smith's son did well. Better Kung Fu than the original and better ending. My kids loved it as well. |

Green Lantern DC what have you done? I saw the new Green Lantern movie today and I must say it was very disappointing, this is coming from someone who had no high expectations of this film to start with. The problem for me with this film is not that is a bad film but that it actually had the potential to be a GREAT film! Watching the first 15 minutes of this film and I thought this was going to be absolutely awesome. The opening scenes were all set in space, this should have set the tone for the whole movie. The movie opens with a sequence that reminded me of Ridley Scott’s Alien, it then introduces us to the Green Lantern Corp a universal police force, just like the Jedi’s in Star Wars. This was shaping up to be an awesome space saga. Instead after that great opening we descend into pure banal mediocrity, the film shifts to Earth and we get the same old tired superhero clichés about a man who has issues and has to find the hero in himself. meh. Why once can we not have a film where the man getting the powers is already comfortable in himself and does not have to learn to be a man? The whole concept of a ring that finds worthy bearers should indicate that whoever it found should already been a hero and not still struggling with himself. Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordon was not for me a good fit, he was not awful but he just plain average. I must commend Mark Strong because he was awesome as Sinestro and the extra scene after the credits could lead to an awesome sequel but only if DC get their act together and get the right director, but I am very afraid that this movie has killed off any chance of a sequel. There was really no need for Hector Hammond to be in this film, and why oh why was Angela Bassett recruited to play Amanda Waller and yet given such a lightweight content? Carol and Eskimo were ok but did not really add much in my view. Presently Marvel are taking DC to the cleaners and if not for Chris Nolan’s Batman movies it would be embarrassing. This could have been DC’s new franchise a kind of Star Wars for the future but I think they have totally missed the boat. I wish this film did not exist and they can start again and decid that this was a movie that deserves the mega budget and a proven and invested director to pull it off. I give this movie a 4.5 out of 10, I leave you with my eight year old son’s comment after the movie, keep in mind that Green Lantern is his favourite hero: “Daddy the cartoon (Green Lantern First Light) was better, I wish it was like that” |
