It was pretty good in an "Oscar nod" movie kinda way. You know those movies have a certain "weirdness" about them.

Mobsters (1991) - Christian Slater was fantastic. Kudos also to Patrick Dempsey portraying Meyer lansky, I expected so much from Slater after this performance but unfortunately he hasn't really done it for me.

A Bronx Tale: I've seen a lot of gifs on tumblr So I decided to watch it. Such a cute love story. Lilo Brancato was such a cutie and Taral Hicks is a beautiful woman. Too bad Lilo is a druggie now. sad cry
Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by ThiefOfHearts(f): 6:55pm On Jan 04, 2012
druggie? Thought he was a thief and a murderer. he's currently serving 10 years for 2nd degree murder

Pathetic. He was in Bronx Tale AND Sopranos yet going around burglarizing people's homes.

As crazy as it may be, this is the first Allen film I have ever seen, and after watching this, I am definitely going to watch all of his others^^ grin grin

I wasn't sure at first with this movie but when I started watching it I was hooked. I have only seen a few Woody Allen film but this one is definitely one of my favourite so far. cheesy cheesy wink

I know everyone liked this film. . . . grin grin but i didn't really. . . . lots of action. . . . well acted. . . .but i found myself wanting the end of the film. . . . grin the plot was pathetic, the fight at the end between Holmes and Moriarty was bland . . . .maybe i'm too much of a fan of Sherlock to like this abberation. cheesy cheesy wink

sadly, he was a junkie and maybe thats the reason why he was going around burglarizing people's homes. . . . . . .  to feed is evil drug habit. hopefully, he will be as tough as most of the characters he portrayed because JAIL aint no acting!!!

Up
I didn't think there would be more good movies after Nemo because I thought that all the new movies would suck. But this movie UP, is really really good! It can make you laugh and cry in the next second grin grin . I love all the characters and the story. It's like a movie that tells you too appreciate life and enjoy every second of it grin wink

Yes he's a druggie but I didn't even know that he's in prison for murder. That's something. Oh well another one bites the dust. He isn't the first and won't be the last. Soon enough if Lindsay Lohan doesn't kick her drug demons; she'll be six feet under.

Colombiana typical they killed my family am going to have my revenge movie but still alright very predictable the actress with the lead role Zoe Saldana played it quite well and Lennie James is always cool with his die hard cop will get the killer role overall nice movie 4 out of 10

Lars And The Real Girl.

The channel I saw it on listed it as comedy and for the first twenty mins, it may have passed for one. It turned very touching and deep very fast. It's about some socially challenged guy whose subconscious lead him to fall in love with a doll he got over the internet to compensate or rather provide an outlet for his emotions. He's deluded and his brother and his wife along with the little community play along so he doesn't fall over into cuckooland completely. It features Ryan Gosling who I'm really becoming fond of.

vescucci dear u have a great taste in movie ^^ grin Before I watched this film, I thought it was going to be a comedic farce, however this was a deeply moving piece. During the movie, I kept thinking to myself "the characters really ring true". Ryan Gosling's performance was brilliant. I can't believe he didn't score an Academy Award for his work. A great actor approaches this type of role with subtly and restraint, while a poor actor goes over the top. Ryan Gosling is certainly the former of the two. smiley

I have seen other films with Gosling such as Blue Valentine and he has become my favorite young actor. I think he has a great future as an artist like me Ogaga4luv . wink wink

On the Waterfront
This is an excellent example of a film that has no special effects and very little action, but still packs a wonderful punch thanks to excellent acting and writing^^ grin I really do think this movie along with TWELVE ANGRY MEN and MARTY should be mandatory viewing for modern film makers, as I have long lamented that modern films place too much emphasis on special effects and not enough on acting and characterizations. The bottom line is that if the characters in a film are under-written, it almost always dooms a film to mediocrity--even with bloated budgets. smiley

As far as acting goes, ON THE WATERFRONT is filled with many of the best actors of the 50s and 60s wink
