What Is The Oddest Compliment You Have Ever Received? by Nobody: 1:37pm On Apr 04, 2011 |
I am sure all of us has that moment that we go "Is that a compliment?" That awkward moment that you wish the person did not say anything at all. Well mine was so so embarrassing, I still get embarrassed when ever I meet this man. He is a married man. He came to my mom to buy clothes for his wife. (cus my mom sale women stuff) I guess he wanted to suprise her or something He said me and his wife has the same figure so I should try on the clothes he wanted to buy. I when in try on the clothe, and came out. Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I knew the embarrassment I was about to face, I never would have walk out that door I swear. I cam out, and the man was literally shocked. He was like "OMG" "Turn around turn around" I did, and he was like "Shi**t only if I wasn't married" All this took place in front my mom, and brothers, The embarrassment was beyond horrific. I just ran right back inside. |

I was graduating from highschool. I had on the flyest outfit my graduation day and tight black pants on with my stilettos. I had a nice hair cut and a hot teal sleeveless 'dressy top' basically I was looking right! Everyone is saying "oh you're so cute!" or "i like your outfit!". My two best friends had on the same outfit but diff. color tops as we always did that. this one girl who i used to hang out with was only supported by her uncle as her parents due to unfortunate circumstances could not attend the ceremony, so we are leaving and we hug each other and exchanged contacts when HE comes up. At this point I want to leave because while she was talking, he was practically undressing me with his scary looking eyes. So I was like "alright girl take it easy!" and walked off and then it wasn't until I got to the end of the side walk getting ready to catch up with my family that I realized he was walking behind me and as I turned around his eyes were fixated on my behind and he kept saying "i swear fo' GOD! I swear FO' GOD I WILL GO TO JAIL!" so i start to speed walk and my mother caught on, cursed him out in patois and he backed and just said "I'm a grown azz nigga, I like women she has to grow up some time!" and then he went in another direction as my brothers approached. It was scary as hell!!!! To make things worse the girl was walking with him the whole time cracking up and I even heard her say "she is old enough, she is 18". Another wierd compliment was when a childhood friend of mine saw me after YEARS of our separation (I moved) and she was with her girl friends and she said "Kay?! is that you? omg you are soo cute! Girl I always thought you was a pretty dark skinned girl!" and one of her friends nodded her head and agreed and said "yes she is a pretty dark girl," turned to me and then asked "so how is your brother?" I didn't even answer, I said "nice seeing you all too" and proceeded into the store I was going to. |

From MzDarkie's story, I guess mine would have to be "you don't look/act African" when I am overseas (America to be precise), now this just boils down to ignorance, it's as if Africans are expected to be walking around with a lion/monkey on their backs or wearing sheep skin fresh off it's back . . . . . . What does an African look/act like!!! **wondering** (rhetoric) |

Re: What Is The Oddest Compliment You Have Ever Received? by MrsChima(f): 2:35pm On Apr 04, 2011 |
Mz. Darkskin, I have noticed that people assumed that dark skinned women are not beautiful or pretty. My cousin is what you would call burple and she is pretty. That goes to show how people refer beauty by the colors which is sad. One dude asked me don't you get tired of men asking to suck your titties? Cos gotdamn I wanna be breastfed by you! SMH. |
Re: What Is The Oddest Compliment You Have Ever Received? by Nobody: 2:38pm On Apr 04, 2011 |
@SA I guess I am guilty of that 'look African' too. But I dont mean anything ignorant by it. What I mean are certain features of Africans are not present. I can tell where in Africa an African is from but if someone is from an area and I can't tell that is when I say that. If you look at my face, You see a black woman but because of centuries of mixing (race/tribes) My African features are not strong. Some Africans have that same 'issue' being the product of two or more tribes or of mixed heritage. |

Re: What Is The Oddest Compliment You Have Ever Received? by HotieTima(f): 2:55pm On Apr 04, 2011 |
Ms. Potato: i am not trying to be racist huni but i can never tell a black, Japanese, chines ppl and ASIAN i can never get they age right. coz they all look younger to u till they tell u they actual age ( so they take it as a compliment) |
Re: What Is The Oddest Compliment You Have Ever Received? by MsPotato(f): 2:57pm On Apr 04, 2011 |
Hotie Tima: Yes, cause you are not Asian thats why you cannot be sure of another's person from another race's age. Its the same like we Asians when we see a white or a black, we cannot identify their age too. But this one no be foreignors go judge my age oo. Its my own people telling me that so i guess its a compliment just an odd one Tima dear, may I ask what kinda exercise you do? |
Re: What Is The Oddest Compliment You Have Ever Received? by Nobody: 3:00pm On Apr 04, 2011 |
Ms.Potato please dont be offended but i think Asians are soooo cute!! i dont know how to explain it without sounding wierd but the small frame, the cute button noses and the sarcasm is too adorable. My friend from Taiwan is 22 and she still has to worry about me saying "aaawwwwe!" when I see her and mind you I have been doing so since we were both 6 years old |

chima shut up! LOL@ Tima. Yes there are some fine Asian men. Like the one who played Jackie Chan's main rival in 'Rush Hour' and another one who played in Rush Hour as the main rival's goon, with the blonde hair. |
Re: What Is The Oddest Compliment You Have Ever Received? by MsPotato(f): 3:12pm On Apr 04, 2011 |
MzDarkSkin: Awwwwwww. . . . . LOL! nahh. I get that alot and I think I feel welcomed when people compliment as such. But I dont have a small frame like the Asians do. My b00b5 are larger and my a55 are larger than a regular Asian. That one coms in my genes. I use to be so embarrass about it that I started tying a cloth to flatten my boobs but guess it didnt work. but now I just accept it as it is. Hotie Tima: Hmm! Im so jelous ooooO!!! U know, I always try very hard to have a flat belly and everytime I have to fast just to get that belly. Its kinda tiring ooo Can we switch Genes? Please? Hotie Tima: Na waaa!! Are u kidding me? I always think Asian guys are too feminine for my liking and they look like girls with flat chest and tornado hair. No offense |
