Second Niger Bridge: If Buhari Pulls It Off, Then... by Saifulah: 5:10pm On Feb 09, 2021
I have watched with utmost admiration the steady and gradual progression of this project to its completion. Ordinarily this is just another project if this was a normal clime, but after the politics played by various past administrations using this project, and its economic multiplier effects on the south eastern economy of the country; the project has attained a "larger than life" status.

The Buhari administration has completed a major project - lagos-ibadan rail line in the south west within one administration (something we thought was impossible)

The administration is on the verge of completing the second niger bridge (a commendable feat)

As a Northerner I am yet to identify any such real, major project in the north (started and completed/being completed). The mambila dam is bugged in legal and funding stalemate, we all know the so called kano-maradi line is a long thing, just like the baro port commissioned and abandoned. rather we are plagued with insecurity and unemployment in the North.

While Buhari will go down as the best civilian president "infrastructurally" to have happened to the country (argue with yourself) as far as the North is concerned he is warming up to be the worst in all aspect. But he still has about 2 years to change that.
