I think dating is a general term or rather what one does. Girlfriend is more specific and refers to someone in one's life. |

I don't think it's the same. "Dating" is just that, dating. You can be dating numerous of people at one time and I wouldn't call them all girlfriends/boyfriends. Now when you speak on "girlfriend". You are claiming or making a label for one another. You are specifically "seeing" that person only. I see that more so of a commitment. When you are just "dating", you are still free to see/talk and/or "date" other people as well. Another example, I can have alot of friends, but there are very few I would consider a "best friend". You feel me? |

@OP, YES! There's a huge difference. Personally, that's where I cross the line concerning my sexuality! I go on dates with women and men! I have never and will never be in a "relationship" with a female! So, |

I remember the first time i approached a girl for friendship ,was in my final year in the university then, after the second outing ,i told her i wanted her as my gf. She told me she wouldn't double date.Whenever i approach a girl and she begins to talk about dating ,i always feel like she wants to play me.But am more comfortable with having a girlfriend. Its like yes, i have someone. |
