Recently, it has gradually come reality that there remains only one sure source of hearsay. If you're still reading City People or PM News, then you most definitely haven't heard of SaharaReporters. Despite their desperate attempt to get your attention.


SaharaReporters is Mr Okey Ndibe. He has gathered a bunch of jobless Nigerian youths and they have vowed to hold The entire Nigeria to Ransom. They have taken on a MEND-styled assault.

However, rather than M-16 rifles and Rocket Propelled Grenades, they have carefully selected lies, deceit and blackmail as their working tools.


Instead of holding foreign oil workers hostage, they have chosen to hold the integrity and reputations of prominent Nigerians hostage and threatened to smear their image and ruin their careers.

You would do well to name stories that Sahara Reporters have published in their website that has turned out to be false instead of just accusing them of falsehood without substantiating such accusations. I am an avid reader of their stories and so far, they have turned out to be true stories. In some instances they have even provided pictures that are incontrovertible.

You would also need to educate us that Adewole Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters, is employed by Okey Ndibe. I have read uncountable numbers of Okey Ndibe's articles and I cant remember anyone article where he has deceived his readers. We need people like these in our society.

In a country where attempts to pass the Freedom Of Information Bill into law was frustrated by the outgone president, Sahara Reporters, like Tell & The News Magazines, is involved in a good and reliable investigative journalism and they should be encouraged.
