Getting my license was the easiest part. Please do not be confused with my first sentence. When I say easiest part I meant it was easier than getting the firearm itself. Took me several months to actually get proper documentation. After getting my license I realized there was virtually no shop you could just walk into with your license to purchase a gun. After months of inquiries, and countless offer of old rusted relics I was able to purchase a banelli m4 through a link from one of the police stations in Abuja.

The whole process took almost 10 months. This was a few years ago. I don't know how hard/possible it is to get a licence now. Guns yes i know because still use the link for maintenance. Due to not having no option in terms of repairs and servicing. Gun ownership and maintenance is a bit on the high side.

Other licensed gun owners what's your experience

The Benelli M4 is a very nice weapon! Lovely!

Could you say your process of getting the license? What are the restrictions of the license? Does your link still have those for sale?

I have seen a lot of big men with pump action rifles especially at funerals and I would ask myself 'do these people have licences for these guns ?'. Individuals shouldn't be allowed to own pump action guns.

I mostly paid for everything. What I did in my part was to fill forms and provide some health related documents which I'm not sure was important. And I had to wait. Took time but it was worth it I guess. As per my link. I don't know what he has in stock.

It's risky showcasing guns in public in Nigeria without having a licence even with a licence it's not advisable. So Im guessing they will have a licence

I have always liked real estate; farm land, pasture land, timber land and city property. I have had experience with all of them. I guess I just naturally like ‘the good Earth,’ the foundation of all our wealth.”

I advise everyone reading this thread to try to get a gun for your own protection... the feeling is priceless and you feel like after God you have powers to defend yourself... I was walking on an empty road with my gf to cross to a nearby ATM while our car was parked across early this January and some guys came, 4 of them ... haggard looking and stinking of weed smell.. saying: “oga find your guys something or e go bad this night for you and your fine babe”.. my girl was not scared one bit she was just looking at me smiling and waiting for my reaction... I was busy withdrawing from the ATM after I finished i turned back and noticed they surrounded our passage... I just pulled out my English pistol from my holster (image is attached below if you don’t know what’s it is) and I talked very calmly: “who wan test my bullet first?” Immediately they all took to their heels... young boys aged of 19-25 ... the oldest one of them was walk-in backwards saying, “boss calm down no be so... boss ... boss and walked the other way”.... my gf was just laughing and screaming at them “make una come na” .. i inserted my gun back to my holster and drove off.... of course I had a wonderful night with my gf later at home that night...

To get a gun in a country like Nigeria easily, is just through illegal means. But, if you want to be the good citizen that you are, you have to be legal.

Illegally:: You pay Fulani herders to smuggle it in for you. grin
Buy the ones carried around by them or pay cult groups to get one for you.

Legally:: You go get your papers ready. You wont get it free, you'll have to spend some good months driving back and forth on the already damned roads to make sure that everything is complete.

Economic importance::

1). You're most likely to use it for protection.
2). If you have kids, then you know what to do and how risky possessing a gun can be. Especially around all this ota akara and ajekpako kids.
3). You end up killing someone by mistake.

And so on and so forth.

It is quite risky.

NIGERIANS AND GUNS are two different words that should never meet.

I remember serving in the cub military then, we had a very tight base.
We were known as machines and winds. Having a gun then was very easy cause, the commander will be the one to sign all undertakings.

You had to be fast in every format and you definitely won't be wandering about without a B&T VP9 at least.

It was called a shitty test, anyone can pull up on you at anytime "wink

With the way things are going in this country, owning a firearm will become as necessary as BVN and NIN. Pray to legally own one soon.

Pump action is actually what Nigerian firearm law allows you to purchase after obtaining your firearm licence. Those big men you see likely all have licences to carry them.

The fvck

Niggarr!!

OP must be a real niggarr.

As a real niggarr you can't be more safe than having something for protection.

Anything for protection my niggarr, just anything and this shit OP got is more than anything, it is something.

I don't have a gun lest someone go snitch and I get an "illegal possession of arm" charge.

But as a real niggarr that I am, I got other stuffs.

I said what I said

One thing is to have a firearm
Another thing is to have the liver to use it when time call for it cheesy

If you don't have a liver
No need bothering yourself looking for firearms

Honestly. This should be an option in Nigeria right now. All I have for personal protection are pepper sprays and clubs in my car and in the house. Seriously considering getting some training and getting a firearm

Did you get training on how to use your pistol,? or are you like the average Nigeria who sees gun ownership like phone ownership, all show off and no idea on how to use.
