From all indications, igbos are fully in support of Jonathan becoming the president of Nigeria come 16th April,2011.I m not objecting it,but considering what was witnessed since the atttainment of Nigeria democracy, where a fellow igbo man will be against or working against his own brother in any political office in this country.Igbos produced many senate presidents under a single dispensations.Igbos will project many Presidential aspirants and none will ever step down to the other.Even in political appointments, they will work against each other.Prominents politicians from other tribe use them to distablize igbo society, and they accept being used for such a tool. When will igbos be united?and fight for a common goal and not allow other tribes to use them as an element of disharmony among their own brothers.I can see how they are all supporting Jonathan and speaking with one voice. The question is,will they speak with such a voice when its their turn?.

It must be really boring to be non-Igbo, if Igbos are this interesting that everyone wants to talk about them. And carry Igbo people's headace on their head.

At least, the myth that Igbo dont ever unite has been busted.

animanl go and tell ribadu and shekarau to step down for buhari since they are all from the same hausa/fulani tribes, idiots that have nothing to do except opening up igbo threads.tell bakara to withdraw from CPC and support ACN that already have a yoruba vice presidential candidate to assure the western votes are not split among the two parties. if we have more than one presidential candidate how is that your bleeping buisness, after all we have over three presdidential candidates now even with utomi steping down.

In 1999, Obasanjo and Olu Falae contested against each other. Neither of them stepped doen for each other.

In 2003, Buhari and The former Zamfara governor face each. Nobody hilighted the need of one of them to step doen for the other since they're both Hausa/Fulani.

In 2007 we had both Atiku and Buhari contesting. Nobody said anything.

It's only when an Igbo man does his own that it becomes a problem.

The Igbos are the biggest losers in this whole equation.
Ruled by some of the worst hands the PDP could offer, Ohakim, theodore orji and co. yet were unable to make any change in the last elections.
and definitely would not make any change in the coming Governorship election. the only opposition party APGA, is dead, having won only One of the senate seats out of 4,(sources say the governor worked to install Andy Uba of PDP) Still endorsed the PDP for presidency.
The Eze gburugburu, Proclaimed leader of Ndigbo is battling for his life in London and his wife is busy frolicking with the PDP campaign train all over Nigeria.  what a tribe!

I can see you deliberately left out Chime and Amaechi who are also members of the PDP.

I think the faster you understand that what's important is electing competent individual irrespective of their party affliations the better for your 'fried-rice' brain.

lol @ ibo people ignoring the main question and instead pointing fingers at Hausa people,

These clueless ibo people coming up with stupid comparison about Buhari not stepping down or this and that no sabi say Hausa people don rule taya, Yoruba people too don rule, na only boy boy ibo people never smell anything, it doesn't even mean much to Hausa people because they always get theirs regardless. Even Hausa man don punk you out and snatch the PDP chairmanship wey den zone to you basically because of what the OP just described, inter clan scheming and backstabbing,

The only place given to them by virtue of zoning in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was the position of national chairman and even that seems to be slipping through their fingers.

In the scheme of things, that position has been occupied by the North, a situation that has denied them proper representation in the National Working Committee, NWC, of the ruling party.

When democracy returned in 1999, the South-East retained the position of the Senate President for eight years but with the re-arrangement of the polity, the zone seems to have lost out in major political stakes in the polity.

Currently, the Igbos are divided even though they are believed to be supporting the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan candidacy in the coming elections. Their support for Jonathan seems deficient in the sense that the South-East may have mortgaged its dream of producing president in 2015.

As it is, having the South-East to produce Nigeria’s president may take as long as another sixteen years. Political analysts opine that South-East leaders have sacrificed their opportunity on the altar of personal interests of the moment

I have said it b4 and will say it again, for an Igbo man to win my choice of presidency, they need to come out and fight for the post with the best most credible candidate capable of beating any other in any region, the fact that they are waiting for a soft hand over disturbs me alot, all other regions are fighting for the presidency while the Igbo man his waiting for his turn and hoping that zoning will grant that wish. Bad news, zoning is dead! and the Nigerian ppl killed it with their votes, we shall vote for capability come 2015 just like we shall vote tomorrow. We are one Nigeria and not zonal Nigeria. Any candidate assuring the Igbos of presidency at anytime is an enemy of the Igbo race! because only the voters can do such. The Igbos should endorse candidates base on ability to perform and not presidential handover. The Igbos are digging their graves b4 2015, voters dont want to hear "zoning grammar" the word zone is an enemy to us as a ppl, if an Igbo man is coming out in 2015 he should abolish that word from his dictionary campaign on his ability and not on "Its my turn" "dem no wan give me chance after I give them chance". The Igbos will be constesting 2015 wit a deficit grade -15% for endorsing candidates for "After u na us". Nigerians are wiser now, we know politicians r our greatest enemies and we can no longer be fooled as usual. Any thing the Igbos do now will prop up in the 2015 debate except they choose the easy route, ignore the debate like GEJ and further disenfranchise the ppl.

What does the presidency have to do with your group? It means nothing. Simply bragging rights. I'll take the development of my region over the presidency.

All I can say is stop worrying about the Igbos next move. When the time comes for us to decide in 2015, everyone shall know what the Igbo want.

Thats a very fair statement given that the North has ruled more than any geographical region in Nigeria. I doubt if they have so much to show for it collectively.

Apart from individuals getting richer, the idea of a president coming from a particular tribe/region really dont mean much to that region.
Re: Gej Endorsement, hope Igbos Will Also Speak With One Voice During Their Turn? by EzeUche(m): 11:11pm On Apr 15, 2011
And I am getting tired of other groups TRYING to interfere with Igbo affairs. Stay out of our business.

You do not talk to us about what we should do. Nor do we tell you all what you all should do.

Who do these people think they are?

They need to talk to their sorry leaders instead of dictating to the ndigbo.

@ dinggle. Very well said,

Very well said. Obviously, they want the presidency, but they don't want to fight for it because they are either too lazy or just politically incompetent to mount any fight for what they desire.

Ibo leaders are the most incompetent and pathetic bunch in Nigeria. I mean, do you really need an Ijaw man to fight and do your bidding for you especially what he obviously can not deliver under the new political dispensation in Nigeria?

Zoning is gone and never to return, say thanks to the same GEJ for taking your best and easiest shot away from you.

Come 2015, you still have to go out there and slug it out with better and well established candidates from other regions. Instead of getting in the game now and start doing the ground work, setting up national political institutions and infrastructures, selecting and grooming credible ibo leaders to go against other candidates, you are wasting time on some silly give it to me on a patter of Gold pipe dream. They are basically weakening the ibo people and making them less prepared for anything at the national level,

ACN and even the SW didn't vote and are not voting GEJ, but GEJ is still seeking their attention and committing to concessions for federal positions and projects in their regions as demanded by the ACN  leaders.

All they have for ibo people is worthless pipe dreams that's not even worth writing on toilet paper,
