Bros it's normal. Due to the covid 19 protocol applications are only submitted online and you only do your biometric at the vfs offices around and come to think of it you are applying for work visa it takes time bro. Calm down and update me as things unfold and I will tell if it's a scam or not enjoy

VFS are just agents. I think they help people with Visa application which of course you can do yourself. Just wasting of time.

They are more than agents ,they handle your biometrics . You submit your passport there and they give u a slip , if u re application is approved or denied ,u will still go there to pick up ur passport . Canada doesn't have an official embassy in Nigeria .

VFS lekki also handles other countries biometrics , south africa and some european countries .

If a company filed for you, then you won't be needing an agent. BTW, if you are yet to personally get the letter of appointment or research the legitimacy of the company with a reputable Canadian government website or email, then things can go south.

Yes, atleast I can vouch for myself but it has processes.

I don't know if things have changed but this was how I did mine in 2008.

1. Got a job through a close pal who signed me up with a retiree who just opened an HR office in Edmonton. Got a job at a construction company.

2. My manager in Canada then applied for Labour Market Opinion (LMO) for me.

3. All necessary investigations we're carried out by tradesecret and I was offered a one year positive LMO with the instructions that I must pass my trade test within 90-180 days after arriving Canada.

4. I now used my positive LMO, Contract and other documents to applied for working permit.

It is so sad that most Nigerians don't understand this process and thinks it is something they can just do through some hungry agents.

I don't know if processes have changed but tradesecret are government agency in Canada and they still exit. So, it is not possible to get a job without being approved by tradesecret. However, things might have changed.

Lastly, you don't have to pay anyone to get a job. Why will you pay? It is the responsibility of your boss to pay for all expenses including a one way ticket to the site.

I am working on something pretty soon with my colleagues in Canada but still arranging somethings for now

Why will you pay to get a job? You can even sure to the agent? This is just scam. Try to move with people and not just social platform rubbish.

If you have done your biometrics then it is genuine. My mum did hers last year before the lockdown, she is to go do omugo for my brother in Canada. The embassy has not responded since last year due to Covid. So just hold on a bit they will surely get back

Firstly every country work permit application is on hold because of the pandemic...

Where you won see job

Secondly you did biometrics means your application was real...you have an account with Canada immigration...but most likely a visitor Visa or some kind of short term visa with work restrictions..

Just chill and try to see where it ends

Two months is still very early with processing time...

If you lucky...you will get a short time visa
If not you are scamed...

Just be positive

Well I don't want to talk based on my ignorance but as at now it's hard to arrange Canada visa for anybody, the process require time and persistent.
What you can do is to ask them what type of visa they're processing for you and what is the name of the NGO giving the slot..finally if it's a slot then you don't need to pay again

I'm 85% sure the stuff is another agent gimmick and soon you'll be ask to pay some amounts........THREAD CAREFULLY

I applied Sept 2019 and Jan 2020 , got denied twice and our passports was sent to kenya and not ghana . Still got the slip and rejection mail

It's simple. Since you did biometrics, that means you have an account with Canada immigration. Your agent did submit an application for you. The application might be for a visitor visa though.

Ask your agent your login details, open your account and see for yourself.

bellow is the print out given to me after the biometrics was done
NOTE I was sent an appointment letter for the biometrics with my application number appearing on their manifest before I was allowed in ....

just go to vfs website and track your application with your application number, it'll show you the status of your application, sometimes it takes 3 months or even more to get a response, especially if it's a working or long time stay visa.

Canada has embassy in lagos, they mostly handled paper submissions, online submissions goes to London, Kenya and Ghana.

Meanwhile Canadian High commission in lagos also handled online visa applications from our neighbouring countries
