More block work on the ground floor and almost getting to the lintel level hopefully by tomorrow all be leveled at the lintel.

All block works have been levelled and the Lintel reinforcement has commenced. 4y12@200c/c.

We have started block work on the German floor. We are using 6" for the interior walls and 9" for the exterior walls.

Since it's an upstair, why not use 9" for this ground floor and do this upstairs.

we reduced some dimensions during setting out so we decided to use 6" to gain more space.

Reinforcement for the lintel is almost concluded and the carpenters are following them bumper to bumper.

and if I may ask, what is the ratio of the mixture that made you not to like it?

Quite obvious that these blocks were molded 40 blocks per bag (commercial production).
Stones are being used rather than chippings or granite which has a higher strength and will not fail on the application of load. A builder used stone on my house and I am now witnessing a crack.
Last week a house collapsed at Awka and we need to learn from that incident.

Firstly we didn't use local stones as coarse aggregates take a look at the picture below, secondly we bought these machine vibrated blocks from one of the best block industries around. Others are selling N195 but we bought these blocks at N220 because of its high quality. Having said that, blocks are non load bearing members, it's main purpose is to demarcate various compartments in a building. Take a look at the picture of a framed structure attached. Did you see any blocks? So poor quality blocks are not the reason why buildings cracks or collapse. Please come up with a more reasonable constructive criticism. Thank you.
