Iyabo Ojo Sues Yomi Fabiyi, Demands N100m For Defamation by Omihanifa: 3:16am On May 13, 2021
Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has taken legal action against her colleague, Yomi Fabiyi, and has demanded N100m as payment for damages caused by his ‘defamatory publication’.

Earlier today, Fabiyi staged a protest demanding the bail and release of Baba Ijesha who has been held by the police for allegedly molesting a minor.

In a letter written by Ojo’s lawyers, The Maverick Forte Legal, it was said that during Fabiyi’s protest defamatory statements were inscribed on placards some of which read, “Nigeria Police please allow the law to dictate to you not Iyabo Ojo, Princess and co. Please release Baba Ijesha.”

Another read, “Iyabo Ojo and Princess promised to kill Baba Ijesha if released on bail in this era??”

Ojo, through her lawyers, denied making any statement to kill Baba Ijesha or unlawfully interfering with the statutory responsibilities of the Nigeria Police Force.

The letter which the actress posted on her verified Instagram page read in part, “Take further notice that consequent upon your false, odious, malicious, vexatious and ludicrous statement and publication against our client which were broadcasted through your Instagram handle, viewed by a huge number of people and further published by several online blogs and newspaper outlets stemming from your orchestrated scheme that has so far damaged our client’s hard-earned reputation, vilify her integrity, rubbish her professional career as a businesswoman, entertainer and artiste, and more so caused our clients children grievous trauma and anxiety since the publication of your defamatory statement.

“It is expedient to state that your defamatory publication has lowered our client’s estimation in the eyes of right-thinking members of the society. Our client has equally suffered huge stigmatisation by business partners, mental agony, restlessness, public scorn, emotional distress, professional indignation, intense psychological trauma, vilification and financial losses by the sudden withdrawal of business patronage by clients and customers.”

Ojo’s lawyers further demanded that within 14 days, Fabiyi “publishes a full retraction of the said defamatory publication on his Instagram handle for seven consecutive days and acknowledge that the allegations are false, misleading and entirely defamatory of client’s character.”

They added that the retraction and public apology must further be circulated and published by select media outlets.

The letter also demanded that Fabiyi “ceases and desists from making further, additional or fresh defamatory publications against our client on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and on any other social media, social messaging blog and/or print media outlets.

“Also, N100m must be paid as damages for the unjustifiable injury and losses occasioned by our client caused by your defamatory publication.”

Furthermore, they warned that failure to comply with the demands within 14 days would result in an initiation of legal proceedings without delay.

100million kee?

Yomi's action is lawfull, and that does not mean he supports rape. You can't keep compelling everyone to support even when u are wrong, although u are fighting a just course.
In a sane society that your teneger stepdaughter tape u uploaded is enough to put u beside Baba Ijesha.

He( Yomi)only asked for Baba Ijesha to be granted bail and it isnt a murder case (and still a suspect)not a convit even though there are enough evidence(s) to prosecute him.

Lets wait till the judiciary resumes, while still requesting for the bail of Baba Ijesha and let us (all) not be emotional about this.

Its high time keep our law(s) straight and not bent.

And, Ijesha abi na Itire should be given the stipulated penalties if found guilty. I wouldnt suggest jail term, I will prefer Total cutting of his Dickson Johnthomas Schoolbag

The only winner here, is the lawyer, The Maverick Forte Legal
People dont win fights and lawsuits.
Lawyers do and do so with smiling all the way to the bank

PS: If the police can't guarantee Baba Ijesha's safety from public outlash or harm (e.g. phygo89 wanting total cutting of his Dickson Johnthomas Schoolbag) if giving bail, then Baba Ijesha becomes an unacceptable risk, and so will be refused bail and remain kept in custody for his own protection.

The Yomi Faniyi guy in the course of his crazy journey shouldn't have mentioned names, especially without evidence that the women said those things.

I am sure the suit won't go anywhere, patapata, he would be asked to retract and apologize.

The evidences are on social media of them staging protests in front of the police station making threats what would happen if Baba Ijesha is released

God forbids if baba Ijesha shoukd die in Police custody, Iyabo Ojo and co travellers would have done for? So many rumours and pathetic digging about the so call minor. Is she 24 or 14 ? Had she ever aborted ? If yes, who was responsible for the pregnancy? Who paid for the abortion? If it's that she aborted previously, Iyabo Ojo should help princess market her house in addition to her own to start the case from the high court to the supreme court.

Nah soso bullying tactics, she forgets that no one ever wins a lawsuit but lawyers, counting the money and smiling all the way to bank it.
If there's one way to make crime pay, its to become a lawyer
