Its difficult to find such land in the south. One hectare of land is like a football field. 1000 by 1000m. And southerners make things more expensive. For instance

Renting the land here is 5k per season (its difficult to get it during raining season because most of the owners want to farm on it at that time since its cheaper and they can escape the cost of irrigation)

Borehole is 25k.
Pumping machine is 40k
Labour is very cheap. Almajiris use to move up and down looking for who needs labour.. Clearing and irrigation. Later on harvesting
Fertilizer is the most expensive item and herbicides. But if you put in 300k for fuel(pumping), seeds and fertilizer and labour, you are sure of 80-100 bags. When worst comes to worst... 60bags

You are advised to pay NAIC for insurance in case anything happens sha. And don't plant too early or too late so those birds won't use your farm to do Christmas.

I would have loved to remain anonymous, but what's the point?

My problem is I'm a jobless graduate, who works for a friend. This friend I work for, doesn't even pay, he just gives me stipends after every work I do. It's a laundry work. He owns the shop, so he's in charge of everything in the shop including, collections of money and all. My work is just to work. I do virtually everything in the shop.

My problem is this guy almost all the time collects the money and doesn't even give me my share. The only time I see my share is when the I'm around when the monies are given to him.

I'm hooked because I mostly feed in there house, because the shop is just within the house. I tried to get a good job, but nothing is forth coming. I even tried applying for casual jobs, still no luck.

I'm currently in a dilemma because my parents are tired of me staying in there house, so currently I sleep in the shop, and it's not even conducive, but that's the only option I have.

I tried contacting my relatives in Lagos if I could go and make a living there, but they aren't really interested me coming.

Please I kindly need advise and help, because I'm heading towards depression.

I'm actually 30 years old. With nothing to show for, except "I'm a graduate" tag.

Can you go from house to house and ask them if you can wash their clothes for a fee? You use their water, soap and dry it in their house while they pay you less than they would have paid your dry cleaner friend. You could also wash in your house too.

Some graduates write their qualifications and email on cardboard, dress well, stand between a busy road and hold it.
It could land on popular blogs and several people will definitely reach out to you.

Cyber security is a tough field to break into even for people with CS degrees. You need a lot of certifications and they are expensive.

I simply advice him to dive into web development which is not so hard to break into.

It's all about choice. You can be a front-end only.

It's used to build the beautiful part of websites you see.

Dear Op,

Farm supervisor role is available in Abeokuta, are you interested? If yes, DM me.

VTJN:
i can teach Geography, Economics and civic education absolutely well. i had a degree in Geography and planning and i came out top of my class

I can also venture into farming, which i really had passion for right from my childhood

I've cultivated maize twice back then in school besides the hostel i was managing (on a half plot of land belonging to the landlord) sold some and shared some within the neighbourhood

I've also attempted mini poultry (broiler precisely) but i couldn't push up (continue) due to finances, poultry farming is good but requires funding

I wish to venture into cassava farming, it's also a lucrative idea in this present state of the nation

It's just to lease some lands probably an hecre or 2 and get the cassava inputs with some other necessities

Ugwu
Maize
All these can also be added to it

I don't have the financial muscles to execute it!

I'm sincerely sorry for intruding into someone's else post

Having HND doesn't make one a graduate in the true meaning of a graduate sir. Graduate refers to one one who has completed a first degree from a degree-awarding institution that awards a first degree certificate like B.Sc. HND is a higher diploma certificate holder, not a graduate .
