Is that fufu or pounded yam??

I've eaten this before but it was done with pounded yam. I have to say it is lighter than fufu and delicious too.

Fufu/ fufuo (mash or mix) ORIGINATED from Ghana, where boiled cassava and boiled unripe plantain is pounded together into a dough. It is eaten with liquid SOUPS not stew. Because it's sticky, the soup is usually poured on the fufu to make eating it easier. Fufu has spread into other parts of West/Central Africa/Africa/ the Carribean, and is called different names and prepared differently. What Nigerians call fufu (akpu) which is fermented cassava dough, and eaten with thickened stew is different from our Ghana fufu. Your pounded yam, which you eat with stew, we will call fufu and eat with soup poured on the pounded yam. Your akpu/ fufu (fermented cassava dough), Ghanaians would add corn dough/flour to it add call banku.

KosiGee:
This is so unappealing, unappetising and distasteful piece of concoction.

Who dumps fufu inside a bowl of tomato/palm oil sauce with boiled egg and three pieces of suspicious goat meat?

Gross and very untidy.

"upon all the naija that lived there our cuisine is still not good enough". I have some choice words for you but I'd let it slide. The level of ignorance and arrogance some of you exhibit is truly nauseating. You come to a different foreign country expecting to see your typical nigerian food? Do you our opinion on some of your foods and practices?

aswani:
I spent a week in Ghana on business, the only thing I could eat was kelewele. Even their jollof was a shocker.
Upon all the Naija that lived there and vice versa, their cuisine is still not good enough.

This is coming from someone that went to boarding school ó.

That fufu name you're mentioning do you know where it ORIGINATED from? It's an Akan Ghana name that has spread throughout the world because of it's popularity. With Ghana fufu soup is poured on the fufu to make it easier to eat because it's sticky

michael77777:
na only igbos knows the worth of fufu

respect for akpu

Is fried rice and chicken our native/local food? Appreciate what we have and celebrate it.

selemempe:
it's an afonja food. To them, this shìt is better than fried rice and chicken

There's no way on natures green earth I'll eat that food if I were the husband, Who puts food and soup in the same plate? Besides that soup is suspiciously plain, and boiled eggs? Really! This belongs to the street litterally.

There's nothing I detest like putting soup and swallow in the same plate. Then imagine this ''soup''that looks like the water from a finished pot of tomato stew.

My soup can't be complete without a veggie even if it's Lil UzizA!
Damn!, this is unpleasant and plain nauseating. You ghanians can do better.

Noticed one has come with Yoruba ewedu soup as a rebuttal.
