The Entrepreneurs' Journey by Edgegroveltd(m): 8:33am On Jun 18, 2021 |
THE ENTREPRENEURS' JOURNEY. *Entrepreneurship / Business Ownership* We were not told, yes we were not. But here we are at it, no manual , no manuscript, no map, all we had was a Business plan . It was worth more than gold to us and yes its still worth it. All we thought was to execute according to the details we penned down in the business plan and follow it to ensure profitability , little did we know that external pressures on the business would alter the profitability curve of a starup. Startups just like an infant child cannot withstand external financial pressures not captured in the business plan. The only part they told us about entrepreneurship was that we would be our own bosses and make lots of money and be rich They never told us that we would fail many times before we succeed. They never told us that we would work 5 times more than our employees or any other employee else where and not get anything sometimes but borrowing to pay salary while we go home to hold our pillows. Little did we know that this would cripple our credit score. That we will be in debt and owe a lot of people money. No one said anything about the sleepless nights trying to figure out a way forward or the unforetold, unforeseen stress and anxiety. No one told us that we would be jokes to the society especially when we start changing from one business to another. No one told us that sometimes we will go six months without any income, living at the edge and surviving through borrowing money from different quarters. No one told us that our doors would be shut down due to failure to pay staff, they can’t get to work. No one told us we would be hobos at some point. No one told us that this will cause conflict between us and family members. No one told us that our wifes'and fiancees' would leave us or on the verge of leaving because they will not understand our journey. Neither were we told that we will have to be more than patient and persevere more in face of hardship. Non told us the impact a bad economy would have on our businesses neither were we told that at some point we would be afraid to seek loan in more stable currencies comparatively with the currency of the country we operate from due to constant devaluation of the weaker currency. This problem that is not in anyway a fault of ours, end up making us loose a lot of money. At some point we would have to risk our lives in order to move forward. We had to figure this out all by ourselves. Many gave up on the journey, Some died on the journey. But some of us after going through so much pain we decided that we were going to succeed or die trying. Some of us are never giving up on this no matter what. We are now doing it and very aware of the circumstances. It's win or nothing for us and it's too late to go back now. We are entrepreneurs!!” 07047432332 |
