At an average cost of 1.1 billion / km.

This naira is truly losing serious value or the tax reprieve for road contract is inflated in his favour.

Does anybody have practical knowledge on the longevity of concrete paved roads vis-à-vis heavy duty haulage vehicles?

I come in peace.

Yes concrete paved roads last an average of 40years..

Dangote should not be the only concrete paved road contractor, Larfarge and Bua should also key into these projects to create competition, since they have the cements at their disposal.

As long as they have capacity and would finish these projects in record time, no problem.

He is rich quite alright. But he can't be rich enough to buy any country or richer than any country.

As usual, non in the South East that has the worst of roads in the whole country,....
No other ministry has been too forward in refusing projects in the South East than fasholas ministry of works!
Not saying this expecting anything to change. Just saying so because it surely will be useful in the future..

Federal republic of Dangote. People like him are the reason this country isn’t progressing. All the key areas where small businesses should be thriving are in his pocket. Fact is he’s a billionaire at the expense of Nigerians.

Everything to you guys is view through ethno-religious biases.
Dangote have used his Tax Credit before to reconstruct Oshodi-Apapa expressway, and it's obvious that the arrangement is far better than the usual contract awarded to corrupt contractors.

Quality assurance, timely project delivery date, transparency and probity are all hallmark of jobs done through Advance Tax Credit.

When they talk of 'richest black man' no one should be surprised! When one ethnicity has been controlling the economy of a vastly endowed and populated country as Nigeria, from 1966 to date, and go out of their way to unfairly favour one of their own through gov't patronage, assistance and monopolistic policies (favours entrepreneurs from other ethnic groups don't have access to)....when all this happens, Dangote is the result!

Funny thing is that, if it were to be Igbos doing even 10% of what the Fulani have been doing with politics, governance and business in Nigeria from 1966 to date, the same Fulani and Yoruba would not only call us 'greedy fuckers' but go on to scatter the entire country!

So sad and tragic to witness. People who automatically shut their thinking off to be barking like wild dogs because of hate of others.

This is a modern, efficient and legitimate way to fund delivery of critical infrastructure. More participation is needed from the private sector.

Governers and local Government chairmen should start utilizing this niche PPP funding model for development of areas under their jurisdiction insted of everyone waiting indolently for the FG tier allocation and money tap in Abuja to open.
