Help! I Think I Have A Ear Infection. by Nobody: 1:18am On Aug 09, 2021
My warmest greetings to everyone on this forum...

I seriously need expert help for my ear. The itchiness is getting uncontrollable especially whenever I'm using earphones. Now I've stopped using earphones for months now. I've used garlic for the ear to no avail. One of my friends advised me to used Robb to clean my ear but the itchiness got worse. I even applied olive oil as par Google recommendation. I even used warm water and salt but the ear still felt worse.

Especially inside the ear, like deep down the ear is always itching like crazy.

Lately, I've discovered that the ear itchiness has developed to a kind of sore throat for me. My throat gets sore easily and whenever I try to clear it up, the sensation goes straight into my ear. Now it has gotten to the stage that I want to put everything inside my ear just to feel relieved. From matches sticks to knitting pin, biro even soft grass just to make the the itchiness stop. It's getting worse.

Please, anyone, help me. I can not afford a doctor so I just want someone who can recommend an over-the-counter eardrops or antibiotics I can use to feel better.

Pls mod help me move to front-page... I really need this help.

You have to visit a specialist ASAP

The ear is not something you can come on nairaland and ask for opinions about it. I'm a victim of such circumstances hence the advice.

Thank you

I really don't think it's a chronic sore throat. The ear is triggering everything. My throat works well. But ear doesn't, sometimes it's always like my ear is ringing, sometimes there are sensation like something is blocking my ear, temporarily, everything I hear at that period will be in low volume. I'm so tired undecided undecided

embarassed I haven't tried any type of eardrops. I don't have any idea about what kind of eardrops to ask for. I don't just want to go to a pharmacist without having a recommendation before hand.

I talked to ENT doctor before I bought mine and the case might be different. Mine started without a side earache and was affecting that particular side of my head and throat. I called the Dr, and he said I should get Augumentine tablet which I used for a week, I was relieved but it didn't go. Had to call him back and he advice I bought this eardrop which I bought and it went. After some days or week, the itch started, I could itch it with anything to the extent that blood started coming out. I I started the antibiotics eardrop again but it didn't go
Had to call the Dr back, he advised I should stop the antibiotics eardrop and get another different eardrop (used to treat ear fungi infection) . Have not used it for three days before everything cleared up to this day
Not that I can mention the name of the ear drops, but if you go to a good pharmaceutical stores, some of them have pharmacist you can see, they can even help you to check before buying anything.

I have been wondering about it ever since I got back from morocco. The company probably called morocco tours who got me there were not that good and I think I might have caught an ear infection while I was there.
