Compared to the results we are getting from them, they are quite expensive..

Secondly,we spend close to two percentage of the budget on them whan they are not up to 0.00005 percent of the national population

In comparison to minimum wage paid here, amount paid to military and police forces, the lazy legislatures payment are bogus and evil, you all should have some conscience.

2% you said? And the entire country's health sector gets about 3 to 5% of the national budget.
So the national assembly is competing with our health sector.
How did we get here?

I thought he will mention one country in the world to disprove the fact but he could not. Percentage my foot, these people are thieves, they can legislate on the irrelevant but can't legislate against the whopping, gulping and the chopping amount every month. Everybody knows the right thing, but nobody wants to do or say anything. Hmm, human rights activists in Nigeria are doing well....

See madness.
He's even confidently quoting a number.
It's like a wife accusing the husband of spending too much time with women and the fool responding by saying he only sleeps with 2% of all the women he meets.
Nigga, that's worse!

But what do they care? Who will catch them?

Is it the percentage of the budget that is the issue or the amount that goes to each of them?

This is what he should compare to what others elsewhere receive and not merely express it as a percentage

It only shows how shambolic his thinking is!

He is right though. But 128b is still massive for a poor country to spend of some...
How is he right? Less than 2000 people are spending 2% of our budget. If every 2000 persons decide to be spending 2% of the budget dats like two hundred thousand people spending the entire budget. In a country of over 200million population, what happen to the remaining over 199million of its citizens. This is rubbish i swear

Can u imagine this drama! So now not more than 1000 people in the country are enjoying 2%, left more 200m people with 80%. I can't even agreed with them, because Sunusi lamido disclosed it that they are using almost 75% when he was in CBN governor.

Is the payment to the legislators meant for eating and buying toys? Are you aware of the purpose to which the allowances is meant for? If the present crop are not using it for that purpose does it mean the purpose is now useless and no longer necessary?

The budget of the national assembly is about 130bn which includes the salary of about 1000 staff working in the assembly complex. This is about 1% of our 13 trillion budget. Even if you reduce it at most by 50% it will be 65bn.

Now we need to triple our budget to meet our growth needs. We need about 26 trillion extra, how can saving 65bn from NASS be the major reason for not having 26 trillion? We are looking in the wrong place

What you've written is different from what we're responding to.

Your copious write-up doesn't address the comparison between the pay in Nigeria and other countries
Re: Femi Gbajabiamila: Nigeria Doesn’t Run World Most Expensive Legislature by sucess001(m): 8:06am On Sep 12, 2021
First they are indeed the most expensive. Second, they are useless. The purpose of the NA is to majorly check the excesses of the Executive arm. Are they doing so?

A national assembly member or an aide to one is spotted!
The truth is that nobody knows the actual budget of the national assembly, everything is hidden from the public since the Sanusi outburst years ago.
When was the money used for the purpose it was meant for, not just about the present members? And like your question suggested that if the money is not being used for the purpose it is meant for, then it means that the purpose is useless and needless and no longer necessary.

Oga going by your analysis, oya remove 1,000 from 200m people in Nigeria.
If Spending 2% of our ₦13trillion budget on less than 2,000 people does not give you worry, then I must be dreaming.

Hmm make I calculate first godi

The national budget for 2021 is 35.6... billion dollars if I'm not wrong
So I'll just leave it at 35 bill.
Following what this nigga said they take 2% of the national budget, and 2% of 35 bill is 700 million dollars then we convert it back to our local currency using 412 exchange rate will bring us to 288,001,000,000. Then let's just say they are up to a thousand sharing the money we have 288,001,000,000/1000 which will give us 288,000,000 per person.

So how is this not the most expensive legislature
