The Akwa Ibom music industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the State and nationwide. Over the years, it has produced many talented musicians which have through their art, set trends and and have put the State in a better position to brag.

Though the sector is still in its infant stage, the quality of music it sends out, the national and international recognitions have improved greatly.

In this article, we will be highlighting top ten 5 artistes from Akwa Ibom setting records locally, nationally and internationally.

Mc Galaxy

Innocent Udeme Udofot better known as MC Galaxy, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He rose to fame after winning the Davido dance competition in 2012.

Galaxy is from Uyo LGA in Akwa Ibom State. The Akwa Ibom singer rose to fame after winning the Davido dance competition in 2012.

Daniel Benson is the latest sensation in the music industry. Daniel which is also known by his stage name BujuToyourEars(shortened to Buju) has been into music when he was a teenager.

Bujutoyourears is from Akwa Ibom State but grew up in Ogun State.

Buju went from being just a simple Akwa Ibom boy to a popular singer in some months. In February 2018, he released his first record, “Catch a Vibe” which was on top charts and trends.

Since then, he has done collaboration with the likes of grammy winner Burna Boy, Zlatan, Ladipoe and the rest.

He is one of the best from the State out there.

Ikpa Udo

Nsidibe Sunday Ukim, is the finest rapper currently doing the art in Akwa Ibom State. The indigenous rapper have created a top rap pattern that puts the Efik/Ibibio dialect into a hiphop/afro content perfectly, hence, putting Akwa Ibom on the map.

Ikpa Udo, his stage name is known by every music lover in the state. He made ITIPEKE as his first single and later drop other singles and feats.

The Ame Nwod crooner has made music with the likes of Iyanya, Slow Dogg and the rest. He has also secured a collaboration with the Nigerian music legend, 2Baba Idibia.

Kizz Brown

Kingsley Imeh Willies also known as Kizz Brown ( Big Kizz) aka Dakruzceebobo  is an Akwa Ibom/Nigerian afro musician. The afro singer made trends with his first single Akwa Ibom The Land Of Promise, which he dedicated to his Dear State Akwa Ibom State, followed by another single Fake Friends

Big Kizz Aspire to studied Mass Communication and journalism.
He has made about 8 tracks cridited to his name. This Young and Handsome Singer is a look out singer in Akwa Ibom State.
He once said " I will be bigger than wizkid, Davido and burns boy" which in no doubt can come true.

The afro singer wants to make music with the likes of 2Baba, Burna boy and Tiwa Savage, Fireboy Dml, Rema, Joeboy, wizkid, Davido, and also wish to collaborate with big international artist like Chris Brown, Lil baby, Cardi B, Dababy and 6ix9ine.

Lybra

Eric Eton, also known as Lybra is a Nigerian Highlife/Afro Pop musician from Akwa Ibom State with a lot of State and national recognition to his name.

Eric attended Monef Kiddies School, Holy Family College and University of Uyo.

The highlife singer came into the music industry with his single ‘Kulu Kulu’ and since then, has released so many other good songs like ‘Fresh fish’, ‘Ekamba”, including the hit song he made with Mc Galaxy -‘Baby Tomato’.

Lybra recently made another hit ‘Unbelievable’.
