It hurts you because i said the bitter truth. Ebonyi won't even need an airport in the next 100yrs because poverty rate in that state is so high. Most ebonyi people resident in Onitsha and parts of Anambra see the place as their home, they hardly remember that they are from ebonyi state. What ebonyi state govt is trying to do is no different from what aregbe tried to do in osun state and it's what has put alot of African nations in serious debt...africans find it difficult to learn from history.

Giving grant, soft loan to SMEs and small business owners to boost their source of livelihood would go a long way to mitigating the suffering of Igbo people in Ebonyi State.

I'm not against him building an airport but the State don't need one at the moment.

From Ebonyi to Enugu is not up to 1hr.

From Ebonyi to Anambra is not up to 2hrs.


Why borrowing fund to build an airport when he can consolidate and harness the huge solid mineral deposits wasting away in the State.

Apart from Salt and limestone, Ebonyi State has tremendous amount of iron ore, bauxite, granite, tin, laterite.


Airport should be the least in the State priority.

I will take you on the 2 points you mentioned..

First of all giving grants and loans are not "only" the means to improve the state HCDI, I mean there are a lot of such grants and loans being embarked by Federal govt, state govt and LG the only problem is there is no structure to allow it get to everyone and I dare say even if the whole indigenes of the states are given loan it won't solve the problem of human capital development because there will be mismanagement and again there are no structures in place to assist people. Take for instance you are given 500k to farm without roads to bring out your farm produce and no airport to move the bulk of the product, can't you see the essence of the loan is counter-productive.

Secondly you mentioned about mineral deposits, That is even the more reason for the airport and roads because investors will need good roads and airport to be able to build a good company that will mine all those solid minerals.

My point here is every component of developing human capital is necessary and if state govt decides to improve part of the component let's give kudos because it doesn't make it less of important.

In SouthWest, Ibadan, Akure and Lagos have better and strong economy than Ebonyi.
