anyone have any solid details on what to expect from the assessment centre?

as for what AC is, i actually do not have a precise definition cos i have never done one but i know it's about a day long on-the-job assessment meant to look at how well u can work in a team, lead a team e.t.c.
it is just meant to observe your comportment, how well u relate, how much ideas you have got, how well you can present e.t.c. (better still, google it)
there was some guy in a suppossedly assessment i recently attended that was being unnecessarily outspoken (lousy). he probably thought that would boost his chances (but believe me, if i was the HRM, i wont consider him) coys need brilliant but cool and collected workers who not only have creative ideas but who are ready to learn too.

had my interview in Abuja today and as you said it was all competency/role based questions. I think we were about 6 in all and we were told we'd get feedback next week. Another batch of interviews are scheduled on Wednesday (and possibly tomorrow) .

Went through a very lengthy thread at Naija Hot Jobs the other day in which they were recruiting for management trainees; heard they eventually took not more than 10 as is their tradition. And so i expect the same brutality with this recruitment; could be as low as 4 TMRs eventually taken.
