It is only when a man's heart is troubled that he seeks friendship with all manner of people. Jonathan's conscience is troubled that is why he wants to continue meeting with everybody. Presidential elections were crimminally rigged in the south east and south south. Only honest people will continue to agree with this. Dishonest people will always defend lies and fraud. While we agree that there is no permanent friends or foes in politics, there must be permamnent interests-interest of the masses. Jonathan has go to have principles and stand for something or he will continue to fall for anything

Sulking Buhari worshipers at every giving opportunity to criticize, question if GEJ was the best man for Nigeria in the last election . . . Anti- Buhari proponents counter their claims that Buhari lost and that  he will never win any election in Nigeria cos of his penchant and antecedents to incite his so called masses in the mold of the almajiri foot soldiers to wreck havoc. And this has been proven beyond reasonable doubt . . .  In responding back, the CPC supporters suddenly squeals . . Was GEJ and Buhari the most competent people contesting the election, shamelessly forgetting that during the pre election political debate war on this land, any presidential aspirant other than Buhari was considered as persona non grata and the euphoria of vote for Buhari or be labelled a fool and worth shooting in the head was very rife ( Go ask Pataki) . . .

When other political parties with a simple interest of forging a better Nigeria through stabilization of an already heated up polity, are trying to harmonize their differences for the good of all . . The CPC is still playing the victim. anyway, i understand their frustration and their plight, but it ends there . . . the CPC is nothing without Buhari, and that was one big foundational goof laid by the soon to be defunct party.

If you did not protest the rigged elections that brought PDP back into power, then it is pointless protesting when they treat you like a fool.

Some comments here still show Nigeria has a long way to go. Most of our youth abroad just like posting on NL based on their thinking not on reality. Before the election,Buhari was always present at Council of state meeting, whether he knows the agenda or not. His thinking was that CAN will not show up!God is in charge of Nigeria and we are moving forward. So many job lost in UK and Spain. So pray for those in authority rather than shooting them in the feet. Omadara fun Nigeria.

Govt of National Unity: ACN reaffirms stand

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has denied a report published by a section of the media on Friday that it had made a U-turn and decided to join the Government of National Unity (GNU) being planned by President Goodluck Jonathan.
‘’We hereby state, for the umpteenth time, that we will not participate in any GNU,’’ the party said in statement issued in Accra on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

‘’Reports that we have embraced the GNU and adopted a ‘guarded participation policy’ amount to sheer fallacy, and should be treated as such by all our members and supporters,’’ it said.
The party said it is a curious stretch to conclude that by participating in a meeting convened by President Jonathan in Abuja, the ACN has automatically reneged on its earlier decision not to join the GNU.
‘’Indeed, we were represented at that meeting by a powerful delegation led by our Chairman. Chief Bisi Akande, simply because it will amount to sheer arrogance to shun a meeting convened by the President to discuss nothing more than the issue of Nigeria, in which we are all stakeholders.
‘’However, when we received the letter of invitation, we immediately wrote back to the presidency asking to be intimated with the agenda of the meeting. When no response was forthcoming, we went to the meeting with a letter in which we reiterated our decision not to participate in any GNU, for the simple reason that a unity government in peace time can only stifle democracy and facilitate the emergence of a one-party state, which will in turn breed unbridled corruption.
‘’We also used the letter to convey our agenda to the President, which includes robust democratic reforms, fiscal federalism, security, especially the issue of community policing, and the fight against corruption. We also used the meeting to reiterate these issues as well as our decision not to be a party to any GNU. How this translates to making a U-turn beats our imagination,’’ ACN said.
The party repeated its earlier warning that any of its members who decides to join the GNU does so in his personal capacity and automatically ceases to be a member of the ACN.
ACN said it is satisfied with its role as the leading opposition party in the country, and would continue to play that role and meet the yearnings of all democracy-loving Nigerians. It said, however, that it will practise - as always - responsible opposition, which is not the same as hostility to the Federal Government.
‘’We are a government-in-waiting, and we know Nigerians see us as such and also expect much from our party in deepening democracy and ensuring better life for our long-suffering people.
We will not sacrifice that responsibility on the altar of short-term political gains,’’ the party said.

Re: Jonathan In Secret Talks With Tinubu by Nobody: 1:40am On Jun 06, 2011
PDP must really hate an opposition party.

If they're really a democratic party, they'll respect the opposition party as it is. It's best for NIgeria that way.
