Chemist4life: Page 1 FAQ 5 answers the question of who is best suited to be the PA (husband or wife), but reading page 1 in full will give you better context (e.g. you both must rewrite IELTS to get better scores, your wife being a nurse means her occupation is in demand and she may be eligible for NOC specific draws for healthcare.....also she's younger). Hello house, is this result good to create a profile?
|
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Farawayman: 10:31am On Oct 11 |
BubeChi: You require minimum 6 to be eligible, so Yes, you can create a profile, however your CRS scores will be ridiculously low, very unlikely you will get up to 400. Create the profile and work on improving the IELTS and come back to edit the profile later. |

Nairalanders please help If my degree was earned more than 10 years ago, should I still include it in the personal history section of the PR application? The system has transferred it( Degree) from my EE application to the PR application. I am thinking of deleting it from the personal history part of the application since it's not in the last 10years. PS: I have an ECA for this degree and it's on my Study and Language part of the PR application Also 10 years is from October 11th 2014 to October 10th 2024 ? |

Tracyy122: What you've planned to do seems fine to me....especially as you still listed your education in the Education (Study & Language) section. You may remove from personal history if it is older than 10 years ago. Remember to scan IELTS, ECA and degree certificates into the Education Placeholder. Pls study the checklist from IRCC on post 5 of page 1 before you submit. They have graciously listed everything they require there. 5 Likes |

Hi Guys, If anyone has information about this, I would really appreciate it. I got my ITA via Ontario nomination, healthcare stream, during my application I submitted all my weekly pay-sub from 2021 to 2023 to prove I had the required 560 hours(my work hours was a combination of par-time and fulltime hence the need to show pay-subs for that duration). Now my question is for my PR application should I show same payslips I used for my pnp (very bulky file )or just show work reference and last three months pay-subs 1 Like |

thug: What matters is each IELTS score... Try to ensure your LRWS is 8777 in that order. If your writing is 6.5 even, you've lost a lot of points. |

Good People of Nairaland and especially this thread, I have come to give you updates on my timeline. Good morning, please I need help with this work reference letter. I filled my current position to which I recently got promoted to this year as the only entry for work pre-ITA. However, I have received three promotions (all same NOC) during my eleven years of employment. So basically, just change of job titles in same company and same responsibilities for all positions. Now post-ITA, I am in a dilemma on how the reference letter should be presented. From those who have faced something similar and received PPR or anyone with experience on such issue, which step should I take? 1. Some forums advise to create an entry for each position (Post-ITA) in the company and upload same reference letter for each. But won't this lead to misrepresentation, as I only created a single entry of work experience for current position before I received ITA? 2. Submit a single reference letter, that mentions all the positions held while indicating job duties were same for all positions? Also, would I then mention each position separately in work history? |

businesscitadel: Someone responded to a similar question: https://www.nairaland.com/6829885/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/511#124638504 One way is to update per job title even though NOC amd employer are the same, then provide one ref letter where the job titles and job descriptions are cleary delineated by years in each job title. E.g. Manager 2021 - 2024 duties were ABC Assistant Manager 2006 - 2021 duties were XYZ Trainee 2004 - 2006 duties were EFG 3 Likes |

GraciousWords:Mentioned current position before ITA as the only title. Won't it cause issues to start updating per job title after ITA since current position is locked in. |

braine:Hi Braine, I know your above post is a year old but it actually answers part of my previous question above. Stage 1. Pre-ITA : Most recent title and then the duration of all the titles i.e start to current (Answered) Stage 2. After ITA: In my reference letter, I'm to outline the start and promotion/end date of each title. (Answered) Stage 3: work history and personal history? I'm currently at stage 3 and would like to know how you filled employment for your work history and personal history? I've worked at same place in the past 10 years, so do I create entries for the different durations of positions held or it is still same recent title and then the duration of all the titles i.e start to current, like Pre-ITA all under one entry. I look forward to reading your input on this issue. Thanks a lot in advance. |

LONG LANDING GIST I initially bought my ticket for just myself because IRCC informed me that I wouldn't be able to add my spouse after my passport had been stamped with the Permanent Residency (PR) visa. We got married after I had received my passport back, and I'll be honest—if you're in a similar situation, I highly recommend getting married before you receive your Passport Request (PPR), ideally even before receiving your Invitation to Apply (ITA) or submitting your Application of Residence (AOR). It would have made things much easier for us. I got married after my passport had been stamped. So, after our wedding, I did the right thing and promptly informed IRCC about the change in my family status. I raised multiple webforms to have my spouse added to my application, hoping for a smooth process. But after weeks of back and forth, they responded, advising me to travel first and then apply for spousal sponsorship for my wife. I can’t lie—that email really hit me hard. Determined not to give up, I raised another webform that same day, resubmitting the same documents I had previously shared with IRCC. To my surprise, I received a response within an hour. Unfortunately, it was more of the same—they informed me that they couldn’t add the documents to my application. I even called IRCC, hoping for a different outcome, but the person I spoke to reiterated the same thing: I’d have to complete the spousal sponsorship process for my wife after I landed in Canada. It was a painful realization, but at that point, I knew I had to move forward. So, I went ahead and purchased my ticket. I figured the sooner I landed, the sooner I could start the sponsorship process and begin working on reuniting with my wife. I dropped my resignation letter at work, and the countdown to leaving Nigeria officially began. About two weeks later, we received a medical request message from IRCC for my wife. Before that day, I had already accepted the idea of traveling without my wife, so I was in shock. Just like that, we started the process of adding her to my application. IRCC opened placeholders for the required documents, sent a biometrics request, and just like that, things were moving again. I had to push my flight forward to accommodate everything, but I was excited that it was finally happening. Once the process of adding my wife was completed, we received our second Passport Request (PPR). With that, the excitement kicked in! We started buying the necessary items, saying our goodbyes to family and friends, and doing all the typical preparations before a big move. When the day of the flight finally arrived, the airport officials were trying to be strict at first, but as soon as we spoke their 'language' (money), they allowed the whole family through without too much hassle. Luckily, three of our 23kg bags were within the weight limit. The fourth one was just 2kg over, but they let us transfer the extra weight into our hand luggage. We declared all our foodstuff and filled out the necessary forms. In all the rush and stress, I even forgot to padlock one of our bags. Once we got through all that, we said our emotional goodbyes to our family members and headed to immigration. Customs had us declare our cash even though both of us had less than $10,000 each, which was a bit unexpected but not a big deal. We headed to the Ethiopian Airlines boarding gate and waited to board. I noticed one Naija guy wearing shorts and thought to myself, “Shey this guy no go freeze laidis?” Anyway, we eventually boarded the plane for the first leg of the trip—about five hours to Addis Ababa. The flight was smooth, and the food was okay. Not that I particularly liked it, but man must chop, right? I paid for in-flight WiFi, only to find out there was none on this flight to Addis! When we landed in Addis, the transit was smooth. We quickly connected to the airport WiFi to give our family members an update on our journey. Soon enough, we boarded the next flight from Addis to Toronto, with a quick stop in Rome. The Addis to Rome leg was about 5 hours 30 minutes, and when we got to Rome, we stayed on the plane for about an hour while they refueled. No one was allowed to get off. The Rome to Toronto leg was another 8 hours and some change. I paid for WiFi on this flight too, and while I could see the WiFi endpoint or access point, it didn’t work at all! The air hostess later told all of us to send an email for a refund. Annoying, but at least there was a solution. The food was okay again, nothing special, but when they served breakfast, I made the mistake of choosing waffles instead of eggs. I don’t know who sent me to do that! The amount of sugar in those waffles—I swear, I could use it to drink garri for the whole year. It was just too sweet. Luckily for me, my wife didn’t finish her eggs, so I helped her out with those. Throughout the flight, both the first leg and the second, I barely got any sleep. But when we finally landed in Canada, the excitement hit me hard. I was so happy to finally be here! We went through the ArriveCAN process, which was really smooth. They had attendants there to help with anything we didn’t understand, so it went by quickly. Then we made our way to immigration. Remember the guy I mentioned back in Nigeria, the one wearing shorts? The same guy I thought would freeze in the cold? Well, by the time we got to immigration, he was already being attended to. But let me tell you, they weren’t just questioning him—they were grilling him. Apparently, he was on a visit visa, and the immigration officer asked him what he did for a living. Baba confidently responded, "I’m a businessman." The officer asked again, and he repeated the same thing. Finally, he started listing all the things he supposedly sells—houses, cars, plumbing materials, and so on. I wasn’t even looking at him, but his voice was so loud that I could hear everything. My wife, who was paying more attention, said that when he was listing all the stuff, he was actually reading it off his phone! Haaaaa!!!. He was saying stuff about how he’s been working since January and this is the only time he has for holiday. That he wants to use his 2 weeks holiday here and then leave. I don’t think the immigration officer was having it as he stood up to go talk to someone at some point. There was also another young guy nearby, who I’m pretty sure was a student. I couldn’t hear what he and the immigration officer were discussing, but based on the officer’s facial expressions and the guy’s body language, it didn’t seem like the news was good. Anyway, our own immigration encounter was smooth—thankfully! We were done in about five minutes, no stress at all. By the time we were done and on our way out, we saw that the guy with the visit visa was still there, being grilled. Poor guy! After immigration, we headed to baggage claim, exchanged some dollars, and got an eSIM card. We were told to go down one level, where Uber and Lyft pick up passengers, so we did. Our first stop was my wife’s friend’s place, where we finally had some good Nigerian food. We made sure to stay awake until 9 p.m. Canadian time to quickly adjust to the time difference from Nigeria. Despite that, I was up by 5:30 the next morning. The next day, we took care of the essentials—did our SIN registration and opened a bank account, and went to our Airbnb. Canada has been pretty chilled so far. Oh, I almost forgot to mention—there’s already a bit of cold, and people keep telling me, “It’s not even winter yet!” Lmao. So, trust me, I always KAK up whenever I leave the house! Thanks for reading this long post. 29 Likes |
