The professional that was in charge of the construction resigned from the work when the developer would not listen to his professional advice.

The Lagos Building Control Agency came out to say the building was approved for 15 floors but the builder kept on moving up to 21 floors.

It’s unfortunate that Nigeria is recording this huge loss despite the economic depression that we are in.
We hope the government will wake up.

May the souls of all the departed Rest In Perfect Peace.

A man who believed that faith will hold a 21 storey building together. They were asking him how he was able to achieve the projects instead of him quoting his experience, skill and expertise he said it's Grace of God, it's faith in God, God this, God that. Religious fanatics are the worse to work with...

femi osibona comapny has built and sold many houses in italy uk and southafrica .the incident doesn't erase that

But he just escaped being prosecuted for gross negligence and loss of lives.

And truth be told, it is better the fatal incident happened now when the building was still under construction. The death toll would have been in hundreds if the building had been completed and rented out for office use.

This is a sad lesson for all these developers.

Listen to your consultants. Don’t go shopping for people who will agree to cut corners. There is a reason people spend years studying a course.

Stop using connection to bypass building regulations. You can never tell when the toll will be paid.
Don't mind some Nigerians! They like underrating professionals who spent years studying their professions but would listen to quacks just to maximize profit and save cost. Then unfortunately, they end up paying dearly for their negligence. It happens even in the health sector!

Sad one! Never compromise material in any construction, and always do your best either in open or secret. My heart condolence to the Families of bereaved. God will comfort the living. I don't wish the dead RIP because only God can determine that.

While building in those countries, he observed all the rules and regulations and listened to professional advice. But once he came to Nigeria, he thrashed everything about professionalism and bypassed all building regulatory guidelines. After all, everything goes in Nigeria! No be naija we dey?!
