PaChukwudi44:This was the lie Tinubu and other Yoruba leaders used in brainwashing their people into voting this grossly incompetent man, sadly even the educated ones we thought would be wiser and able to see through the lies were deceived. Those who told Nigerians the truth about Buhari, were attacked and mocked for insisting never to vote Buhari all deserve our respect, they showed themselves to be smarter than the rest of the pack. I mean the Easterners, South South and Ekiti people. 5 Likes |

EraseTheDot: And so? What does having 6 governors have to do with the leadership of the house of rep? What does having 18 senators have to do with the house of rep? And how can a party of 50 members out of over 350+ produce the house leadership, in a country where democracy is practiced? Are you and Akande even thinking sef? Inshort they should have slapped Akande for even mentioning this in his book. There are different ways to dine with the devil. If they didn't trust GEJ or any of PDP options, they could have requested from someone they trust in PDP who is in the house or from the south west. They could have even lobbied for one of their ACN members who has a good relationship with PDP guys to deflect to PDP and look after their own interest from there. But no, they wanted power, they wanted to give a name to GEJ from ACN when they were minority. No matter how you look at it, they chose to power over the SW people. That doesn't matter now because it played out well for them, they have the VP today and are pushing for presidency. So in the long term, it paid the SW better. 2 Likes |

joefelin2345: you are a cretin. your problem is you are too consumed by tribalism to understand that tribalism is only a means to an end and clearly you have fallen for it. I will turn your question back on you, what has SE benefitted from 16 years of PDP? This is politics not tribe. they play the tribal and religious card to the 1mbeciles, retards, and dimwits you fall for it......to them it's all about politics. They know but you people clearly are not intelligent enough to understand politics, that why you region has never produced a president. Nigerian politics is not about progress, nobody can deliver progress to anybody under this constitution. Nigerian politics is about winning, power and sharing money amongst a few winners and playing the tribal/religious card to the millions of m0rons like you to get them in power. Unfortunately dim-wits like you are taking this tribalism more seriously than the people playing the tribe card for your vote. When they are sharing money they dont know tribe. You will be shocked how many yorubas/hausas collect contracts in SE and same all over Nigeria based on party politics not tribe. 2 Likes |

Nigerians idea of politics is so backward and wayward. Look at people on this thread thinking they did a thing because now "a Yoruba man is Vice President and Speaker and may possibly be President" I have never seen people so obtuse and wilfully ignorant that they celebrate figureheads in power, people without actual power that are no better than those they think they got a one-up over. Nigeria is still a hellhole, the whole country is suffering, the living standards are impossibly high, and I am sure most of the people gloating on this thread cannot afford a one-way ticket to any country of note, but "...a Yoruba man is in power...." How has that helped the average Yoruba man in Ogun State? How has it stopped SARS and EFCC from constantly bullying southern youths and killing them, particularly in South West? How has it helped Tajudeen in Ogbomosho? Any politics that cannot positively affect the lives of the lowest of your own, is useless politics. But once again, Nigerians play silly politics while thinking themselves smart. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

perambulator: In 16 years of PDP, the average Igbo man enjoyed a boost in his business. It is business that an Igbo man cares for, his own individuality. The Foreign Exchange was good, fuel was affordable, feeding was affordable, but mostly, business was thriving because the foreign exchange was good. An Igbo man's number one thought in politics is the Economy, not just foolish regional politics. Since all the Yoruba men are now in power, how has it helped the Nigerian economy? The railway that is in the South West, how has it fed the average Yoruba man? Has it stopped you from buying food at an alarming price? Has it reduced the foreign exchange rate? If anybody is soaked in regional politics and tribalism, it is actually the Yoruba man, and you don't even play it in a way that can properly benefit you or the rest of the country. You play it rather childishly. Awon, "At least our brother is in power", who your brother help? 6 Likes |

DabuIIIT:Was Adesina a member of PDP? So of all the PDP members that worked for his reelection in 2011 he could not accommodate them ? Instead he pursued a vendetta against the PDP in the SW thereby handing the zone over to Tinubu Tinubu was not so great a strategist. He benefitted from the political incompetence of Jonathan When Jonathan took over from Yar'adua PDP controlled Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun . By the 2011 election he squandered that lead and by 2015 he had completely dismantled PDP in the SW |

EraseTheDot: This post is great but incomplete. You should have added that the ACN was playing the long game. Besides preventing the 'Greek gift' speakership that would have potentially buried the party, they were also playing the long game which paid-off because they went on to midwife a coalition that birthed the APC, which saw two yoruba men emerge as number two (VP) and number 4 (Speaker) for the first time in the country's political history. 4 Likes |

Did ibb not then invite Awo and told him to go to exile as he wouldn't like to jail or execute him? And was that not what made Awo to commit suicide by drinking poison?!
