Very good development. Enugu has the largest deposit of coal in the country & its been there for longer than the past 12 years, and the state has been netting IGR and collectin from the federation account each month for the same past 12years. Thank God the current Governor has decided to take action. Hope this is completed soonest. I wish each state governor could undertake steps to produce say, 1000MW within the next 6 years. Infact, if each state produces 600MW before 2015, vision 2020 or wotever may begin to look slightly realistic.

oji thermal power plant started up again for 2 years now. The governor has renovated d plant. Though it has lost a lot of its strength,it currently generates power for udi, ezeagu, oji L.G.A's. People should research b4 they talk.

^^^ If you're refering to my last post, it was more of a question than a statement of fact given Nigerias woeful maintainance culture and disregard for most things located in the South East.

Can you provide a link to show the current status of the plant? Cheers.

Very, very nice development though I would have preferred the Chinese doing it. They have more money, experience, a better completion rate and are not too touchy when it comes to tech transfer which is critical if the government has a financial stake in the plant. If they don't they should arrange with Nnaji to harvest 100% of the output locally first to industries. Must guarantee tech transfer and must be fully privatized no matter what stake the government has in it.

Guys, I hate to spoil the party. ask yourselves why there's no timeline before you start singing "i've seen the light" smiley
This looks more like a stunt to me. You can sign 100 Memorandums and do nothing. We've been there before.

and that is why the good people of enugu and indeed nigeria need to put pressure on the man to do it before leaving office 2015.

without pressure the man might just be sleeping grin

The Hallmark of good governors , in this dispensation , seems to be taciturn. Chime , just like Fashola doesn't talk much. He only opened his mouth once, that was when Nwodo wanted to be funny. We are v happy he isnt dumb. He fought Nwodo gallantly. We hear from the grape vine that Nwodo & Chimaroke have left township. Thats how it shd be, really. Chime shd be allowed to carry on wt the good work he is doing in Enugu State. We learnt Polo is wearing a new look . The Coal Power Plant will , no doubt boost our economy

We hope he is equally spreading his tentacles to other areas. The Oghe Cashew industry shd be expanded. Some part of Nsukka is good for rice.
Lets move in all the fronts

ESUT & IMT school fees shd be scaled down. Please, parents are groaning

One of the 3 Senatorial zones in Enugu has no tertiary institution . He shd try to establish a campus there as a matter of urgency

Enugu is working well.
Good work

Let other S E governors speed up developments too. We expect Rochas to take off @ supersonic speed.
If Orji & Elechi are not ready to move they shd be replaced. We dont care the party, all we need is real development
