There are some doctrines very popular in Christiandom and have been accepted by a wide majority, some doctrines are more concentrated in some particular churches while some cut across a number of churches.

While it is almost impossible to talk about all the wrong doctrines in Christiandom today, I will talk about 7 popular ones and explain why they are wrong. Some seem to be under the same caegory but I will treat each sub doctrine as one so I can talk about it specifically.

1. The first doctrine I will talk about is the one where Pastors claim that anyone not in their church cannot make heaven
This is as wrong as wrong can be. There is no church signboard in heaven, your pastor is a fellow servant of christ and not anything special. I personally feel that this is a tool used by pastors who are afraid of losing members to other churches.
This doctrine can even be expanded to limit women from marrying outside by insisting that the intendig husband must become a full member of the church. They claim that if you baptise into another church, you have backslided but if you convert your intending spouse into the church, you have "won" a soul for Christ. This doctrine has scattered marriages because sometimes they will even teach a wife to rebel against her husband by following him to another church (not shrine ooo).
This is a wrong doctrine, there is no scriptural backing for this but in Ephesians 2 vs 14 says that:
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
These type of doctrines divide us not unify us, are not scriptural and so are wrong

2. Witches must die
This is an old testament law anchored on Exodus 22 vs 18: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
However the word of Jesus in Mathew 5 vs 44 is:
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you
Rom 12 vs 20
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

If you are busy praying for the enemies to die, if you see that enemy hungry, will you fed him? If you see him thirsty will you give him water to drink?
This doctrine breeds hatred and Jesus preaches love as the greatest commandment. Because of hatred for witches, mothers abandon their own flesh and blood to die and the so called "unbelievers" come and pick them up (and the witch doesn't kill the unbeliever). What kind of christians are we then when we are ernestly praying for the death and downfall of "witches".

Withcraft is the evil spirit in the witch, the witch is simply a tool. You are to wrestle against the principalities and powers holding the witch not the body.
Infact your hatred of that witch is what opens the door for the attack launched against you by the witch or wizard, if you love them truly, their witchcraft is useless against you, that is why the demon in them does everything possible like showing up in your dreams, insulting you and doing things that are provoking to make u hate them.
Refuse to hate. Love!

3. Forgive and Forget
The bible teaches forgiveness yes, but nowhere did it say you should forget!
Romans ch 16 vs 17
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them [/b]which cause divisions and [b]offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

A brother that is fond of duping those he does business with should be forgiven and AVOIDED! Please refuse to do another business with them again with a very clean conscience and don't let anyone tell you that you did not forgive and forget


4. Drinking Alcohol is a sin
Ephesians Ch 5 vs18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Here Apostle Paul was specific in saying that the sin is in the[b] excess [/b]wine which leads to drunkenness.

Matthew ch 11 vs 19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
The the emboldened we see that Jesus drank wine and the Pharisees mocked him for that. Wine is not fuit jiuce ooo, it's alcoholic.

Matthew ch 26 vs 29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
Jesus drank wine during the last supper and said that He will drink it with us in heaven, if you don't drink it here on earth, you will drink it in heaven.

Excess alcohol is the sin not alcohol and the reason is that it causes loss of mind control. I will talk about [b]The sin of loss of mind control [/b]next week. Loss of mind control is the sin not alcohol

5. Wearing of jewellry is a sin
They quote 1Peter 3 vs3:
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But conveniently leave out plaiting of hair and putting on of apparel...

The bible is saying here that you should be bothered about putting on a meek and quiet spirit instead of ornaments of gold, plaiting your hair (in early europe, plaiting or braiding ur hair was a sign of wealth or status so women will go through alot of fuss to buy servants who could braid hair or find a way to pay for one to braid their hair), we know the wealthy also show off with their apparels.

1Peter 3 vs4: [/b]But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
This exactly is what christians should always wear like a garment or ornament. This is the priority not gold and fine clothes.

In [b]proverbs 1 vs 8-9, the word of God or instructions of our parents are an ornament and chains (chains are metal)
8. My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mothe
9. For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

In Genesis 24 vs 53
52. When Abraham’s servant heard their words, he bowed down to the ground before the LORD.
53Then he brought out[b] jewels of silver and gold[/b], and articles of clothing, and he gave them to Rebekah. He also gave precious gifts to her brother and her mother.
Eleazer didn't buy those jewels on the road ooo , he brought them from the house of Abraham (the friend of God) and God didn't condemn or tell Abraham His friend that the jewels are a "sin"


6. Women wearing trousers is a sin
They anchor this doctrine on Deut 22vs 5
Deuteronomy 22:5 (KJV) The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

This does not literally translate to trousers for women or skirts for men.
Prophet samuel wore a skirt
1 Samuel 15:27 (KJV) And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
Boaz wore skirts
Ruth 3:9 (KJV) And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.
Saul wore a skirt
1 Samuel 24:5 (KJV) And it came to pass afterward, that David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt.
Biblical women wore skirts too
Lamentations 1:9 (KJV) Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified himself.

And there's no mention of trouser in the bible.
Deut 22 vs 5 refers to cross dressing. Skirts, garments and robes were worn by both genders in the bible days. Same way trousers are worn by both genders these days.

However the emphasis should be on non-seductive dressing by women especially. The kind of gowns some girls wear will send u straight to hell, some skirts can only be worn by the most shamless of prostitutes and some trousers especially those made from light materials leaves nothing to the imagination. Lets not get started on the b*m shorts that wont cover the goods...

7. Back to sender prayers

This is similar to the witch must die doctrine. If you love the sender as Jesus commands, you wont send demons to the person.
Thats what happens when you pray back to sender. The "arrows" sent to you are actually demons. The demons really dont care who dies or who is afflicted. Either you or the person they are sent to, all they care about is that someone dies. So if you over power them by prayers you have spoilt their show, if you now send them back (on assignment), they still get to kill or ruin someone.
Deny them the opportunity to ruin someone who obviously needs deliverance. Don't send demons on assignment. If you do, you are no different than the witch.
What do you do instead? Bind them, bind their powers and render them powerless. Pull down their manipulations and break their enchantments. Pray with love in your heart.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (KJV) (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
