Rector, Engr M.C. Arimanwa did the unveiling of the solar and battery-powered car. The car was fabricated by Engr Pius Nwosu under the supervision of Directorate of lResearch Innovation and Development with sponsorship by TETfund. Very nice innovation. Thie golf cart concept would be adaptable for use around university campuses, and even for transport within towns and villages where the roads are not too congested with cars. The only problem facing any electric car user in Nigeria would be the availability of mains electric power to recharge the batteries, but with solar charging stations, even this limitation could be overcome to an extent. |
