Buhari is a coward! I thought he said there was nothing like fuel subsidy when Jonathan was president. He should have gone ahead to remove it since it doesn't exist.

Qualitative leadership includes the ability to take hard decisions based on strong convictions.
Yet another proof that we have been 'under led' these past 8 years.
Re: Fuel Subsidy: After Seven Years, Buhari Transfers Burden To Successor by mfm04622: 8:01am On Jan 29, 2022
Buhari disappointed me in this fuel subsidy issue!

There is no subsidy on diesel used in industries to produce alternative power and for long distance transport. We are used to it.
There is no subsidy in kerosene used by the poor in the cities to cook, nobody is crying!
There is no subsidy on gas used by the rich to cook, to produce power by both GENCO and lucky companies, there is no issue.
Why is there fear Nigerians will die of hunger if PMS is not subsidized?
Cameroon, Niger, Chad are all our neighbors. They are all oil producing countries. None of them is subsidizing PMS. Ghana is oil producing, no subsidy
Our neighbors depends on cheaper PMS smuggled from Nigeria! In reality, Nigeria is subsidizing PMS for all our neighbors! This is not sustainable!

You want APC to remove subsidy 1 year to election? They are not stupid like GEJ PDP. APC would do anything to remain in power. They don't care about you.

Before his emergence as President, Buhari had claimed that anyone who says he is paying oil subsidies is a fraud.

I'm glad the above was included in this writ, hopefully, this will make the observers, neutrals and spirited Buhari followers to be impartial with their remarks

Technically this problem will resolve itself with the passing of time.

Dangote refinery is expected to begin production within the next 18 months and if the reports are correct, it can supply local demand and thus ending import of pms and subsidy dies a natural death.

But who knows dangote will still collect subsidy to sell below 150 naira per liter, these are just possibilities.

Good days in sight guys...
Even with Dangote producing petrol, subsidy can still be maintained. It is a matter of the govt buying from Dangote at prevailing market rate then selling to Nigerians at lower or subsidized rate.

Why will subsidy die a natural death because we no longer import? Was subsidy born when we started importing?

Subsidy will only die when Nigeria pay the market value of PMS .
Subsidy has been with us for decades even when we did not import PMS

The answer is in politics. APC will not lose their chance to remain in power. Removal of fuel subsidy, will trigger violence campaign from opposition.

Fuel is use by every Nigeria. Increase in fuel means increase in transportation and increase in price of goods and virtually everything. Initially it will be though but as time goes by, it will be a normal thing but the question is which party has the balls to do it?

Dangote has to buy crude oil at international prices and pass on the cost to Nigeria. Dangote oil billions to banks and international prices for his refined oil. Do you want to depend on a monopolist?

Since others only invest in useless hotels , fuelling stations and event centre or building useless estate about.... Dangote would continue cashing out big time

When PMB got into office in 2015, the condition for which pump price was increase from N95 per liter to N145 per liter was that they have removed fuel subsidy. This was well accepted by everyone believing that scarcity would go for life. Nobody knew that it was a political gimmick.

Hardly did we know that despite the increase, FG was still paying subsidy. So, the first increase was a political gimmick. Now, they are planning to increase it again. Who is fooling who?

Half of APC promises were orchestrated by Tinubu. Buhari does not know the meaning of subsidy that is why he said it is a fraud.

You think APC are dumb? If they remove it and fuel price hike to 350 per litre, that will be what Pdp will use to campaign. Most Nigerians will only see that price of fuel has increased and curse Buhari and APC without bothering to know why

Racoon:

"Any person who is obsessed with proclaiming his so called integrity at the slightest opportunity but won’t investigate, much less fire, shady characters he has appointed to work with and for him can’t possibly be truly a person of integrity.

This attitude of mollycoddling corrupt but loyal aides and appointees while pretending to be a man of “integrity” who is “fighting” corruption is getting worse by the day indicates that, in spite of self-righteous declarations to the contrary, Buhari is himself morally indistinguishable from his crooked cronies.

So it is impossible to deploy the resources of logic to argue that Buhari has integrity. He doesn’t. Well, unless integrity means something to Buhari supporters other than what it actually means in the English language."
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailytrust.com.ng/amplite/adeosun-s-nysc-certificate-is-as-fake-as-buhari-s-integrity-260912.html

Afamed, Helinues, Seunmsg, NgeneUkwenu,

Without doubt, you said it all.

Integrity was the key used to unlock the hearts of gullible Nigerians. Now even the integrity of the man is questioned as along with his team they reel out lies upon lies on daily basis.

Painfully the supporters of this colossal failure appear to have been completely bewitched and their senses of reasoning taken away from them. Is it that in the course of wealth looting, the senses of these supporters were looted also?

I take consolation in the fact that all the citizens, especially the supporters - as they bow their faces in shame in their secret chambers - feel the shaking of this massive self inflicted turbulence.

Fuel Subsidy in Nigeria is just a ploy to increase fuel pump price, not framework on how it would benefit all

Now my question is, what difference has the buhari's government made?

His successor too is likely to follow him and leave behind their own contradictions and outright falsehood because they will want to run for another 4 years and at the end of that four years want to handover to a loyal party member who can cover their own track.
We are stuck politically because even if there is a change in ruling party, the masses won't allow the only tangible benefit of theirs in One-Nigeria project slip away.

But the truth is, Nigerians don't want fuel subsidy removed.

That is why Buhari is passing the buck to the next leader, and the next leader will pass the buck.

Nigerians want and desire cheap fuel. Even strongmen like Abacha daren't removed fuel subsidy when he was in power.
