giselle237: Also we did a family package before I did this particular application, the reason we weren’t given is because of my mum … that she had excess money which wasn’t described in her for or so So the agent deceided I do mine alone I sell female Wears and I was going for a vacation |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 7:56pm On Feb 19, 2022 |
meljoe:sorry about that. Only reapply when your circumstances have significantly changed. Also hold onto all the information this agent filled for you, because there can not be grave changes all of a sudden without proofs. Like as u have said u are a ceo earning this and that, not next month you will fill in another application that you are a petrochemical engineer going for a 2 day course/summit… .’ko le work. 1 Like |

giselle237: Yes I understand , like my cousin said I can apply for a course about business or fashion because of what I sell I want to apply again How do you think I should go about it ? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 8:01pm On Feb 19, 2022 |
meljoe:i see from previous posts you have travel history with USA. what a waste of application you just did with this agent, when you could have used your USA visa + history to your advantage. There was no genuine need for these.. Im sure this was one of the reasons your decision was delayed seeing biometrics was since august |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by meljoe: 8:04pm On Feb 19, 2022 |

meljoe:You sell female wears.. how much do you earn and how much is your disposable income at the end of the month? You have filled you earn millions, how will you counter that in the next application seeing you have no proofs to back up what you are saying.. same thing that happened in your recent application. Give it time, you are not ready yet. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by AmeliaT: 2:40am On Feb 20, 2022 |
Sorry about this. Refusal is straight forward. I see 3 issues. 2million annual income is too small. Your statements didn't correlate with the claimed income. Your statement doesn't have the required volume and sustainability so you don't come across as someone earning enough to afford this holiday and return. The profile looks fishy. You have two rejections; a third one could be dangerous. Two day course will signal desperation and deception. Retain your tourist visa but only when your circumstances have changed significantly. Build your travel history before going back. The UK is NOT the end all, be all. I have been to 36 countries by God's grace and was born/lived in England for many years and I can tell you it isn't in my top 20 or even 30 countries. I only go back `because it is home- family responsibilities, health maintenance and shopping. Otherwise, The UAE, South Africa, Qatar, Barbados, The Bahamas etc. offer way much more fun and excitement. My Tips 1 Pay yourself a salary into your personal account every month and that should be the primary income there. Obviously, the salary should be a logical amount that's healthy and not eroding your business revenue/profit. 2 You Should present the personal and business account but make sure your business account is active on CAC. 3 Do not resort to inflation, sending through large deposits within the six-month period. 4 Spend as you normally would in your personal account, leaving some each month so that is accumulated to a healthy balance. 5 Review the statement first before you indicate your income, expenditure, and budget. Make sure the annual income matches the statement income. Annual income should ideally be X2 of your 6month statement. The expenditure should also follow the same principles. 6 Budget for the trip should ideally not exceed 2 months’ income. There is no hard and fast rule about this, but people have been rejected for a budget that was X4 their income. 7 However, ensure this budget covers your entire trip. Breakdown flight, accommodation, food, transport and a little bit for shopping and entertainment (not mandatory). Below is my personal budget guide which I came up with myself and is by no means prescriptive, but you can review, and tweak as needed. This will help guide to ensure your budget, length of trip and available balance are all in sync. Flight- £564 Accommodation- £50/Day (unless you’re staying with a friend) Food- £20/day Transport- £10-15/day Optional Shopping- Variable Entertainment- Variable 8 I personally advise that you try to ensure that the available balance in your account is 2X the budget for the trip. Because they expect that you have funds to go back to when you get back home. So, you can use your available balance to work backwards to see the budget you have available for the trip and therefore the number of days you can afford to stay. Others have gotten their visa with a 500k balance but it’s better safe than sorry. These are my thoughts and of course there have been exceptions to the rules, both positive and negative. All the best! meljoe: 5 Likes 1 Share |

Pls I am kind of a slow learner, but I understand very well if broken well for me. Pls can you explain further to me on number 5&6. What do you really mean by X2 & X4 ? Secondly, in terms of accomodation, u said " unless you are staying with a friend". I want to know, does it mean that that friend, will send an invite. Or how? Pls explain this further for me. Thank you for reading. Happy Sunday to you all 1 Like |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by AmeliaT: 2:32pm On Feb 20, 2022 |
Hiya, No worries. 1 X2 just means two times. X4 = Four times. If your statement shows you receive 10m income within 6 months, ideal thing is to pro rate by multiplying by 2 to get the annual income. I.e. 20m. 2 If you earn 500k a month, your budget should ideally not exceed your 2 month income i.e. 1m. People have been rejected and the reason given was that the budget for the trip was equal to 4 month's of their income which the ECO believed was too much to spend on a trip. 3 If you're staying with a friend, you will need to signify this on the form, including their name, home address, phone number and email address. The friend will also send an invitation letter, copy of their passport data page as well as a copy of their leave to remain if they're not a citizen. If possible, their mortgage/ownership docs or tenancy agreement (if they agree as those are sensitive documents) to show they have a means to truly accommodate you. The friend may also be called to verify their relationship with you. I hope this was helpful! All the best! kizonero: 1 Like |

AmeliaT: Wow! You are wonderful. Thank you so much. It helps. Just that I still want to ask a question base on that number three. What if I decide to book for hotel reservation to pay on arrival for the tourist visa, but then i decide to sleep in a friend's place over there. Mind you it's tourist visa without any invite. Is it possible? Lastly, what is the PTA fee like? Will it be required and how do I go about it and how much is it? Thank you once more for your time Amelia |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by AmeliaT: 3:21pm On Feb 20, 2022 |
You can change your mind but if you say you're staying at a hotel, the funds for the hotel must be accounted for in your budget and must be in your account. I've never heard of anyone who stated they were staying at a hotel and then changed to friend's house who had immigration issues. You could have actually wanted to stay at a hotel and then was offered hosting by a friend. I however don't think this should be a constant trend. In my opinion, if a tourist constantly states they'll stay at a hotel generating #500 quid for the economy but everytime, end up staying with a friend, it could raise a red flag for me that the applicant is deceptive. If 10,000 tourists do this, it means they're giving the nation false expectation of 5m GBP in Hotel tourism revenue which is never realized. I don't think they track this though. Lol. Even illegal immigrants; they have a hard time keeping track of. But you never know how strict they'll get. You can get up to $4000 in PTA or $5000 in BTA. The processing fee is about 5k plus you need to make the naira equivalent of the amount you want available based on the prevailing rate which is about 419. It is not a requirement but it is much more advantageous to buy PTA at 419 than to pay for the same dollars at 575. kizonero: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by leef2022: 5:22pm On Feb 20, 2022 |
AmeliaT: Hello AmeliaT pls permit me to add 1. There's a processing fee of #5000 for PTA forex transaction. You may not have noticed as it is very little when compared to the success of the transaction. BTA, I think that business travel Allowance for business owners but you maybe right. However, to avoid meeting dead ends if for tourism and travel I advise you pick PTA. Thanks, have a great Sunday 1 Like |

Yikes. Thanks for the correction. I totally missed that. @kizonero please take note that’s there’s a 5k processing fee Yea BTA is for approved business specific travel of which you need to show clear evidence of while PTA is the regular personal allowance for tourists leef2022: |

Hello justwise and other experts How feasible is it for me as a PR in Canada to sponsor my parents who are essentially retired on a family visit to the UK? Will the VO have concerns with this They have good travel history and Canadian visas . Financially I am able to do so comfortably and will apply for my UK visa before or at the same time as them , will they need to add any financials ? Thanks in advance |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 7:50am On Feb 21, 2022 |
canadaman18:you can sponsor your parents. In terms of financials, you should include their bank statements to be on the safe side. Some instances, eco has overlooked whereas in others it was the reason for their refusal. Being that on the visa application form you fill a hx about how you live and where you are upto financially, bank statements will then be used by the visa officer to ascertain if it correlates to what is in the form and if your circumstances are ok per say. In sponsored cases it doesn't have to a long statement for the sponsored ppl, I have done 2-3 mnths severally in my experience. Just give them a feel of their living circumstances and then cover it up with yourself providing more than enough. The plus should be their existing Canadian visa + travel hx. Just fill the form accurately and have enough to fully sponsor their trip and still have that to sustain your family and dependents. As you the sponsor probably has nuclear family dependent on you.. there should be enough for sponsoring 2 individuals and still for yourself and family in Canada. You will not be allowed to clear your acct to have nothing left after the budget for their trip. Eco will be looking out for that. Then you must include as a sponsor- detailed Letter explainin to the embassy what costs you are covering, everything should be listed, evidence of how you make your money, payslips, 6 months bank statements, evidence of relationship etc. 2 Likes |

Pre-departure and day 2 test for the UK is no longer applicable. But departure PCR test from the UK to Nigeria is still mandatory as of today. Then day 2 test on arrival in Nigeria is still also mandatory as of today. Squid456: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by leef2022: 11:43am On Feb 21, 2022 |
ozymes: It is still applicable if unvaccinated or not fully vax. In fact you may be denied boarding your flight and entry for these reasons if you dont present a negative pcr done 48 hours within your departure from Nigeria and a reference number for day 2 pcr test as well a plf. Reference last updates came into effect 4:00am 11.02.2022. Some changes would happen this week, but as of the time of writing these such news haven't been made yet. |
