That French girl that scored is fine o,

Abi lol. Why cant those Igbo MBGN gals that are wearing Adamawa state saches come and play for the Super Falcons. Its better that we lose with hot chicks than these overaged women that are claiming to be 16 and 19 years old. At least Sepp Blatter go tell ref to award us penalty kick.

When is Nigeria going to step up its game? The girls looked pitiful! Apart from looking underweight and malnourished, their hair was terrible!!! Why they could not do nice and new hair styles? Their hair looked dirty and messy, it was like they did it 3 months ago! I don't care what anyone thinks, its my opinion that if you are going to represent your country for the whole world to see, you should at least try to look presentable. It is a soccer game, I know, but people make comments of their looks and generalize it to the entire country! Next thing I will hear is "Nigerian girls look ugly", then I have to explain that not everyone look this bad! How can people believe me if an entire soccer team looks sloppy? SMH angry

NO! You are wrong and I disagree. Joy Jegede was the captain of the U-20 team that won silver at the Germany 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. She paired Osinachi Ohale (who paired Onome Ebi in AWC 2010 and in yesterday's game) in central defence and was the better of the two in my opinion. You're probably mixing up the Trinidad & Tobago U-17 Women's Championship with the U-20.. Faith Ikidi used to be a very good defender (our best defender) in 2007/2008 (World cup/Olympics. . .and was outstanding in marking out USA's Abby Wambach then) but she's clearly past it and on current form, I think Joy Jegede is better.

LOL. . .is this an informed opinion or you're making that assumption cos of the surname and you think she's using a different ''first'' name in this competition?. . .just like how Osaze Odemwingie is known as Peter Odemwingie in the EPL? grin grin

I hate to burst your bubble, but again you are wrong! UCHECHI SUNDAY IS NOT ESTHER SUNDAY. I know it seems very unlikely that two different female footballers in a team would have the same surname but believe me, they're different people.

I have the official squad list in PDF format as released by FIFA (downloaded from FIFA.com and I'm looking at it now) of all the participating countries detailing all their info & statistics and I've checked it out. . .and done some research too.

Uchechi Sunday is an Igbo girl and her full name is Uchechi LOPEZ Sunday. She 16yrs+ (09/09/94), stands at 1.82m (should be about 6ft) tall and she plays for FC Neunkirch in Switzerland and was uncapped for the Falcons until yesterday WHILE Esther Sunday is an Efik or Ibibio girl. Her full name is Esther UKPONG Sunday, of average height and she plays for Sunshine Queens of Akure. She played at the AWC 2010 and also in the Olympics & All Africa Games qualifiers this year. Her caps for the Falcons should be at least 10 by now or just a little less. Esther Sunday was part of the 30 players that was in the Austria training camp but she didn't make the final squad.

Very True! Nigerians teams hardly incorporate the off-field training regimes into their training practice. The typical Nigerian football training starts and ends on the pitch. . . .E nor dey pass light warm-up with some physical exercises, some laps of jogging round the pitch and then playing a training match. I doubt they put in much work off the pitch i.e gym, chilled water pool etc for physical conditioning and tuning out exercises.

You are right about the girls named Sunday. However, I strongly disagree on the inclusion of Joy Jegede in the current Nigeria’s women world cup team. There is valid argument for inclusion of Loveth Ayila, Amarachi Okonkwo and even Esther Ukpong Sunday.

In addition, mush of the blames should be levied on the Nigeria which is a categorized piece of junk.

Hey guys, as Nigeria lost their opening game to france their chances of quailifying to the next round of the tournament are very slim. To defeat Germany is gong to be a difficult task and I can just say that the falcons are unfortunate to have fallen into such hot group. Well God is control.
