MIG-29 is not obsolete. I doubt it will amount to much though other than a few days of nuisance. I wonder how the IFF on those will work since they are Russian made and will face Russian missiles.

Stop embarrassing yourself. Pledging neutrality ain't the main issue. The problem is Donbass region. Minsk 1 agreement in 2014 and Minsk 2 agreement in 2015 both chaired by EU particularly France and Germany failed in Belarus.

Ukraine wants Russia to leave Donbass region to Ukrainian control since it's their land.

But Putin is saying No. That he wants Pro-Russians in Eastern-Ukraine to remain autonomous (control the area and keep their own govt).

Donbass is highly rich in resources and it's part of Ukrainian economic strength. But Putin wants to control, spy and maintain influence of the region.
