Please can someone out there give me a good organisation I can get cheap yet reliable internet access here in Zamfara state? Are those GSM internet solutions really trustworthy?Can I get something like a starcomms line here?
Please send possible solutions.

maybe you can use MWEB from DSTV, they should have the whole nation covered, but stuff like starcomms and co don't reach Zamfara at all, at least while I was there anyways. Or maybe those mobile browsing cards from MTN, but I doubt if Zamfara would be covered as well.

Guy, thanks alot but the MWEB people I contacted about last two months said they do not offer the internet service any longer. You know sometimes the customer care people do not really know so much about technical dealings. Could you kindly help me confirm if they are still giving that service? Thanks man.

sorry mate, I don't really have contacts in ZM as i did before, I don't think I can help in that regard, what could be useful is if you could go to any Multichoice dealers in Gusau and ask, or better yet, if you can get to Zaria or Kaduna to ask there from the MC dealers, because most things in ZM are organised or set up from KD.

My brother served (NYSC) there in 2002/2003 at "Talata Mafara" which is about 30mins away from Gusau. To get internet connection, he had to take a 30-40minutes trip down to Sokoto state!

Talata Mafara is closer to Sokoto than it is to Gusau the state capital, but things have improved somewhat now, there is internet access in Gusau and Kaura Namoda as far as I know, but not in the hinterland. My friend here is talking about getting private/home internet connection which is a different story altogether.
