Military authorities are set to take over control of Kherson Region following the imposition of martial law, Vladimir Saldo, the acting governor of the Kherson Region, said on Wednesday.

"Martial law means military authorities will take over the control of the region according to law. We are doing this work together with the military," he told reporters.

He said almost all regional government staff had been relocated to the eastern bank of the Dnieper. Travel to the western bank has been limited in an effort to help the organized relocation of civilians from that bank.
