Whether you've travelled by air or not, you deserve to know these interesting facts about aeroplanes and air travel.

1. The environment inside an airplane alters the smell and taste of food and drink —sweet items tasted less sweet, while salty flavours were heightened.

2. When a plane lands at night, cabin crews will dim the interior lights. This is so that in the unlikely event that the plane landing goes badly and passengers need to evacuate, their eyes will already be adjusted to the darkness.

3. Only 5% of the world’s population had ever been on an airplane till 2013, but that number shot up to approx. 20 percent in 2020.

4. Airplane doors CAN NOT open in mid-flight.

5. The Boeing 747 comprise of about six million parts, and they're all made to be controlled by the switches and buttons accessible to the pilots.

6. Pilots eat different meals. This measure aims to guard against cases of food poisoning.

7. Australian airline Qantas has never had a fatal accident involving one of its commercial aircrafts

8. Living on an airplane flight path (close to airports) could harm your heart. You will be exposed to noise above 60 decibels regularly—like the sound of an airplane overhead, this gives you a 30 percent greater risk of a heart attack.

9. Research shows that the first 3 minutes after takeoff and the final 8 minutes before landing are when 80% of plane crashes happen.

10. The back seat of a place is safest in the case of a crash. Those sitting at the back have a 40% chance of surviving a crash than those who aren't.

11. Airplanes can trigger lightning.

12. Airplanes are designed to withstand lightning strikes.

13. Flying by plan is the safest means of traveling. In 2017, as an instance, there was no airplane-related crash in the U.S., while there were 41,000 car crashes.

Pero is a young woman who breastfed her father Cimon, after he was sentenced to death by starvation.

During the reign of Louis XIV (1643—1715), Cimon was sentenced to death by starving for thieving a loaf of bread. Pero was both the only daughter and the only one allowed to visit him.

She was allowed to visit Cimon daily, but she was thoroughly searched so that no food was taken in.

However, after four months of imprisonment, Cimon was still alive and didn't even lose weight. This puzzled the authorities and they decided to investigate the possible reasons for this.

After spying on Pero, they were surprised to find her breastfeeding her father to the fullest with her breast milk.

She was sued, subsequently, but upon realizing the extent of her love and compassion towards her father, the judge's heart was softened and they decided to pardon the father and set him free.

Her name is Juliana Ossa. She fought off an alligator with a trick she learned on TV.

10-year old Juliana is from Florida, and she was swimming in a lake in Moss Park Orlando when the alligator bit her leg and didn't let go.

At first, she tried hitting the alligator on its head for it to let go of her leg, but that didn't work. That was when she recalled what she learned in a TV show called Gatorland

The trick was to stick her fingers up the nose of the alligator so it couldn't breathe. Struggling for air, the alligator had to open its mouth to breathe from there, letting the girl's leg out in the process.

By doing so, the alligator set the girl free. She was rescued by her uncle and taken to a hospital where she made full recovery.

Marcus Wesson claimed he was Jesus and the only righteous man alive. He believed Jesus was a vampire and wrote his own bible where he claimed that "drinking blood was the key to eternal life."

Marcus had a history of abuse, which started with him marrying his 8-year-old niece, Elizabeth.

She first gave birth at the age of 14, but by the time she was 26 she had given birth to eleven kids.

But that wasn't it. Marcus went ahead to marry two more of his nieces and secretly married two of his daughters, producing several children with his brides.

He convinced them that God’s people are becoming extinct and that he's been given the mandate to preserve God’s children on earth by making more babies.

On March 12, 2004, two of the mothers were distraught after they learned Marcus made plans to relocate the kids. Scared that they may not see them again, the wives demanded custody of the children.

This created a scene in the neighborhood. The police were alerted, but as they came, Marcus promptly went inside and shot nine of the kids dead.

His logic? Instead of him to be separated from his kids on earth, it's better they all go to heaven.

Marcus did not resist arrest. After he had killed the kids, and still covered in blood, he calmly submitted himself to the police. He's still in prison today.

India as a country predominated by Hindus, has 330 million gods and goddesses.

Hinduism is an exceptionally syncretic religion that recognizes 330 million gods and goddesses. Amongst these millions of dieties, the most important are Vishnu, Shiva, Ganesha, Krishna, Sarasvati, Durga, and Kali.

Hindus believe God lives and appears in all creation. This explains why they not only worship cows, rats, cobras, elephants, etc., but also believe those animals are sacred.

Hindus not only worship animals, they also worship weapons and tools.

The Ayudha Pooja, is an annual ritual where machinery and tools are worshipped. During worship, a special attention is given to weapons like guns, rifles, and swords. The deities honored in relation to the tools are the Shakti goddesses called Saraswati (the Goddess of wisdom, arts, and literature), Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth) and Parvati (the divine mother).

5 parts of your body that are somehow not really useful

1. Men's Nipples

If a lady wants to take away a man's soul, she may use his nipples as a potent weapon during s3x, aside that, biologically speaking, men's nipples are totally useless. While women necessarily need nipples for breastfeeding, there is no important known reason why a man needs nipples, except of course for......

2. Appendix

In the medical world, appendix is the most famous useless organ.

Except that it stores gut bacteria (which are really not important), it has no other function except to help you give your money to the doctor, so he can help you remove it before it kills you as a result of contracting a disease.

3. Palmaris Longus

Place the back of your wrist on a table and hold your thumb and smallest finger together (as seen in the 3rd picture), did you see any muscle popping up on your wrist?

That's the palmaris longus. It's somewhat useless.

If you are a lady, you may have observed that you didn't even see the muscle when you followed the instructions in the first sentence above. Not everyone has the palmaris longus men have it than women— another evidence of its less importance.

4. Tailbone

You may not believe this, but it's true.

You, all the admins of AoK, and every other human being in the world developed a tail 5 to 8 weeks after our mothers conceived us. But the tail vanished by the time we were born. The remaining part of that tail is what is known as tailbone or coccyx. This tailbone or coccyx is useless. But we have it anyway.

Maybe it's to serve as a reminder that we were supposed to have tails like cows, monkeys, and other mammals.

5. Tonsil

Just like our appendix, our tonsils too are somehow useless. Some have argued that the tonsil protects against inhaled pathogens.

But when a tonsil gets inflamed it inflicts a painful condition known as tonsillitis. And if the infection gets worse, doctors just cut off the tonsil through a process known as tonsillectomy. There is no known health challenges or diaster that has arinsen as a result of removing an infected tonsil. This suffice as a proof that the organ isn't really important.

MONDAY OF DECISION....

Make the right decision and make the decision right.

In 2018, Apple Inc. became the world's first company to record a market capitalization of $1 trillion. As at December 2019, it was at the threshold of $1.3 trillion. With such enormous wealth and fame in the technology world, today, owning 10% of Apple will remain only in the realm of imagination.

But there was one man who had exactly 10% of Apple's shares, but sold it for just $800.

Meet Ronald Wayne, the third co-founder of Apple that most people don't know. The third co-founder who would have worth more than $96 billion today had he not sold his share in 1976. The third co-founder who will never be a millionaire, talk less of being a billionaire.

Wayne, Jobs, and Wozniak started the Apple Inc together, but Wayne was older than Jobs and Wozniak. He was also richer than them. At the beginning, Apple was incurring too much debts, and since Jobs and Wozniak were broke young boys, Wayne feared that as a co-founder he might be the one to pay with his wealth and properties if Apple eventually goes bankrupt. So, Wayne sold his 10% shares to prevent the disaster of losing his wealth. Unfortunately for Wayne, it turned out that Apple didn't go bankrupt and fold up.

Since he will never be a billionaire, there was yet another opportunity for Wayne to be a millionaire at least, but he made the wrong decision again. Some years after selling his share to Wozniak and Jobs, Wayne went ahead to sell his own copy of the contract paper binding him and Wozniak and Jobs as co-founders. According to "The Filthy Rich Guide," in 2011, the same contract sold at auction for $1.59 million.

Wayne is now more than 86 years old. He lives in a mobile home park and sells stamps and coins. The billionaire that never was.

Poena Cullei is an execution method in ancient Rome for those who killed their father or mother.

First, the head of the condemned is covered with a sack, he is then tied up and then beaten until he was bloody.

After the beating, he's put inside a sack so big and so strong. Then they also put some 'companions' inside the sack and tied up.

The companions are usually snakes, dogs, monkeys, and roasters. But that's not all.

Later, the full sack is transported by oxen to a water body nearby, and the full sack is thrown into the water.

The thing is, typically the victim will slowly die from suffocation, but with the animals, the victim dies a more horrifying death.

When these animals start suffocating, their survival instincts kick in and they manifest in fights, pecks, and bites, both to each other and the condemned victim.

In the end they all end up drowned.

DOOMED BY LUST (PART 1)

People who went while cuumming

In 2009, two female colleagues of a 28-year-old Russian Sergey Tuganov challenged him that he couldn't pleasure them through a straight 12-hour penetration.

It was not just a challenge but also a bet. They would give him $4000 if he could keep up with the s€× marathon for 12 hours.

Sergey accepted the challenge and the "match" started. To the ladies' surprise, Sergey lasted for 12 hours non-stop. The pleasure was more than enough. Sergey collected his money and praises from the ladies.

But suddenly, Sergey collapsed after the marathon. The ladies called medics but it was too late.

The medics couldn't save his life, but they were able to establish that Sergey died of heart failure because he had taken excess amount of Viagra.

RIP to Sergey. He was a hero. Not many people could last for 12 hours. In fact, lasting for half a day is something millions of men will ever experience.

History that makes us feel like it's a movie.

On the afternoon of Nov. 24, 1971, a man named Dan Cooper boarded a plane heading to Seattle from Portland (USA). He wore a black suit and was with a briefcase.

He sat in the back row of the plane and ordered a drink while the plane was about to take off.

Shortly after taking off, he gave the stewardess a note, which indicated that he has a bomb in the briefcase and that he wants the stewardess to sit with him.

The stewardess did as she was told, and opening the case Cooper showed her the explosives. He wrote another note and told her to pass it to the pilot.

The now terrified stewardess took the note to the pilot, and on it, Cooper made his demand:

He wanted $200,000.

The pilot had to land the plane back at the airport it took off. As the plane landed, Cooper allowed the passengers to get off, while they brought him the money. He also asked for a parachute.

After, he ordered the plane to take off again, this time to Mexico City.

In mid-air, Cooper did the unthinkable, he jumped out from the back of the plane with the parachute and the money. He disappeared.

The plane later landed safely, and to this day (51 years later) no one, not even the FBI has been able to find out who or where Cooper is.

He had paid for the flight with cash, so not even his real name is known.

How Did Babani Sissoko Pull off a $242 Million Fraud Without Being Punished?

One sunny day in August 1995, a Malian man called Foutanga Babani Sissoko walks into the HQ of the Dubai Islamic Bank in Dubai.

He asks to see the manager and his request was quickly granted because he looks rich. .

He sits and begins to talk to the manager. He tells the manager that he wants a car loan. The discussion ends and he invites the manager to his home.

In his home, he tells the manager he has black magic to double any amount of money. He asks the manager to go back to the office and bring some cash so he can show him how potent his black magic is.

The manager leaves and comes back the next time with huge cash. As the manager approaches the magic room where Sissoko asked him to drop the money, a man comes out of the magic room screaming in fear and warning the bank manager not to make the spirits in the magic room angry.

The manager obeys, walks into the room, drops the money, sees strange fire, hears strange voices, and sees the money double right before his eyes.

This is the beginning of a $242 million scam. Between 1995 and 1998, Mohammed Ayoub ( the bank manager) made 183 transfers. He begins to transfer millions of dollars to Sissoko's bank account in different countries. Sissoko lives large and incurs bills in the millions and Ayoub settles the bill always.

Sissoko goes to America, marries a beautiful bank teller in the Citibank. And uses the teller to facilitate wire transfer from Dubai Islamic Bank. Over $90 million is deposited into the account.

The manager keeps sending money to Sissoko's account around the world to the point where Sissoko opened a commercial airline company in Mali— Air Dabia.

1996 or thereabout, Sissoko is arrested in Geneva where he is trying to open a bank account. He is extradited to the US for judgement. Influential lawyers in the US stand to defend him. A US senator even volunteers to defend him.

The US government wants Sissoko held in custody, but he is bailed for $20m (£14.5m).

Sissoko walks away freely from the court. He becomes famous in Miami for his stupendous wealth and careless generosity.

Then he goes back to Mali to become a politician. For 12 years, between 2002 and 2014, Sissoko was a member of parliament in Mali, this gives him immunity from prosecution.

Sissoko was never punished. He went scotfree with $242 million just like that.

This will sound like science fiction, but it is true.

The whole internet is protected by seven physical keys, in the hands of 14 people. These people meet four times each year, since 2010; twice on the East Coast, and twice on the West Coast of the U.S.

During these highly secured meetings, not less than three key holders need to be present as at least three keys are needed to unlock a master key.

The master key is a computer code known as Root Key/Sign Key —a kind of password that controls the database of the International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)

The master key controls one of the core security systems of the World Wide Web: the Domain Name System, or DNS for short.

The DNS is what links web addresses to IP addresses. If not for the DNS system, you'll need to memorize numbers instead of a website's name. Imagine having to type "129.134.0.0/17" instead of Facebook(dot)com.

To show you how important the DNS system is. If anyone gets to control it, they can direct web traffic. They can, say, direct bank customers to a fake website instead of real bank websites.

During the meetings, these guys also flush out malicious websites that may be harmful to users.

While there are seven keys, there are other backup keys held by seven extra persons in locations across the globe. These backup keys are necessary in case anything terrible happens to the initial seven keys.

Cheeky lady

A woman decided to give herself a big treat for her 70th birthday by staying overnight in a really nice hotel.. When she checked out the next morning, the desk clerk handed her a bill for $250.00.

She demanded to know why the charge was so high "I agree it's a nice hotel, but the rooms aren't worth $250..00 for just an overnight stay - I didn't even have breakfast!"

The clerk told her that $250.00 is the 'standard rate,' and breakfast had been included had she wanted it.

She insisted on speaking to the Manager. The Manager appeared and, forewarned by the desk clerk, announced: "This hotel has an Olympic-sized pool and a huge conference center which are available for use."

"But I didn't use them."

'Well, they are here, and you could have." He went on to explain that she could also have seen one of the in-hotel shows for which they were so famous."We have the best entertainers from the world over performing here."

"But I didn't go to any of those shows.."

"Well, we have them, and you could have."

No matter what amenity the Manager mentioned, she replied, "But I didn't use it!" and the Manager countered with his standard response.

After several minutes discussion, and with the Manager still unmoved, she decided to pay, wrote a check and gave it to him. The Manager was surprised when he looked at the check.

"But Madam, this check is for only $50.00"

"That's correct I charged you $200.00 for sleeping with me."

"But I didn't!"

"Well, too bad, I was here, and you could have."

Marilyn Monroe and the Philandering Kennedy Brothers

John F Kennedy, 35th US President, was an exceptional womanizer and a gifted adulterer. Respecting the sanctity of his marriage wasn't a virtue he was known for.

As president, he slept with uncountable number of women in and outside the White House. Actresses, secretaries, employees, prostitutes, singers, politicians, name it. Kennedy slept with women in almost all spheres of life.

White House historians have since agreed that it's impossible to know the number of women JFK had an affair with while he was president.

One dark side of his uncountable affairs with high-profile women, is the one he had with Marilyn Monroe— one of the most beautiful actresses of the 20th century.

What led to the whirlpool of romance started in 1961. That year, Kennedy attended a Christmas party in his sister's home without his wife, Jackie. At the party, he got alone with Marilyn Monroe.

They had $e.x, soaked together in a tub, showered each other with champagne and were caught on tape by a private investigator. The hot romance that night left Marilyn Monroe to believe that JFK was in love with her. She even believed he was going to divorce his wife to marry her.

Far from the truth.

JFK caught a whiff of her plans and he passed her on to his younger brother, Bobby. Bobby made it clear JFK wasn't going to marry her. And he went on to have a passionate affair with her too. Shortly after, Marilyn Monroe had feelings for Bobby and was talking of marrying him.

Obviously, Marilyn Monroe's emotional delusions were becoming problems for the President and the Kennedy family.

So, on August 4, 1962, Bobby travelled to Los Angeles just to have a meeting with Marilyn Monroe and tell her that their relationship was over.

She killed herself few hours later by overdosing on barbiturates.

It's sad that one of the most beautiful, famous women of the 20th century will end her life because she couldn't get love from two womanizing brothers, when there were thousands of loyal men willing to do anything to marry her.

Here is the story of an assassin who hired an assassin who hired an assassin that hired another assassin who eventually hired another assassin.

You think that's a typing error? No. Read the story.

In 2019 in China, Tan Youhui, a real estate developer, hired an assassin to kill his business rival. He paid the assassin £220,000.

The assassin in turn hired another assassin to do the job and paid him £110,000. Since the pay seems to be quite a lot of money, the second assassin too hired another assassin and paid £30,000, making it three assasins in the link.

The third assassin felt it's easier to give the job to another assassin. So he outsourced the job to another assassin and paid £22,000.

In the same pattern, the fourth assassin hired another assassin and paid him £11,000.

But instead of doing the job, the 5th assassin entered an agreement with the man he was supposed to kill. He asked the man to fake his death.

He then went back to the assassin who hired him, claimed the job had been done and collected his pay. The victim reported the case to the police and all the assassins were arrested.

All six men were convicted of intentional homicide and given prison sentences up to five years.

We may have come across a story or more about what men have done for love, but only few, if any of us, have heard of what women did, or suffered for the sake of love.

Let's look at the story of Blanche Monnier

She found a suitor in the late 1800, but unfortunately he was not of her social class. He wasn't the young, rich aristocrat her family had hoped she would wed, but rather an older, poor lawyer.

The Monniers were a prominent and wealthy family; had an estate, and a spotless reputation. In Parisian high society Madam Monnier, Blanche's mother, was known for her charitable works, she had even received a community award in recognition of her generous contributions. Her son, Marcel, had excelled at school and now worked as a respectable lawyer

So when Blanche's low-classed suitor came, the mother insisted she choose a more suitable husband, but Blanche refused. Then her mother did the unthinkable:

She locked Blanche in a dark room for a period of 25 years.

Fast forward to a day in May 1901, the attorney general of Paris had received a strange letter stating that a prominent family in the city was keeping a dirty secret. The note was handwritten and unsigned, but the attorney general was so disturbed by its contents that he decided to investigate immediately.

The police did a customary search on the estate and was led to a dark room where an odd smell was oozing from. The room was pitch black, and its only window had been shuttered closed and hidden behind thick curtains. When the window was forced open, it appear that the odour was coming from spoilt meal littered on the floor.

That was the first time Blanche Monnier had seen the sun in over two decades. She had been kept completely naked and chained to her bed since the time of her mysterious “disappearance” 25 years earlier. Unable to even get up to relieve herself, the now-middle-aged woman was covered in her own filth and surrounded by the vermin that had been lured in by the rotting scraps.

It appeared that Blanche Monnier had refused to give in to her mother's request. So even after her suitor died she had since remained locked in her cell, with only rats and lice for company.

When the new went public, the outrage was so great that an angry mob formed outside of the Monnier house, leading Madame Monnier to suffer a heart attack. She would die 15 days after her daughter’s liberation.

Blanche Monnier lived the rest of her life with some lasting psychological damage after her decades-long imprisonment: she lived out the rest of her days in a French sanitarium, dying in 1913; 12 years after her freedom.
