The contract of fraternal organization is cemented in trusts. In writing it serves as reminder, but it is in action that the spirit of brotherhood manifests its truth.

APC was formed as an alliance purposely to rescue Nigeria and steer it back into relevance and power.

I always observe events as a paradox of force and counter-force. To rescue Nigeria the paradox would be that the country was going into some ruin, and to return it into a position of power would suggest, in a paradox, that it had become vulnerable and weak.

The principal partners in APC formation consisted of four parties but one particular individual was by far more prominent and brought with him the highest equity the partnership could boast of. That person was Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his equity was ACN controlled States.

ACN ruled states that contributed over fifty percent of Nigeria's gdp by productivity and income, over thirty percent of sovereing revenue and more than a quarter of its population. No other party component in APC could attain close to the assets and manpower in ACN. Beside, ACN was also the opposition party in national congress and held the minority leadership seats in both upper and lower legislative house.

If anyone had the power and resources in 2014 to correct the problems of weakness and decay in Nigeria, only two people qualified and they were both Southerners. The two of them sat on oil and mercantile incomes which when combined controlled Nigeria's economic survival. Goodluck Jonathan from SS and Ahmed Bola Tinubu from SW were the two most viable rescuers and captains capable of steering Nigeria to power and greatness. Politically, President Jonathan, head of ruling party PDP, and Tinubu, head of opposition party ACN, failed to see their own relevance and power and took partisan politics too far, became antagonists to one another's interests.

The result of this antagonism produced APC. Instead of going into alliance with Jonathan from oil producing economy, Tinubu forged alliance with a menace from North who had promised bloodshed if he did not win election. The alliance surrendered his mercantile economy in SW into the hands of the cow herder in North.

Without ACN and Tinubu, Buhari could never have won a victory at the polls and became President. It is critical that history recognizes Tinubu as the architect of Buhari's success at the polls, in 2015 and a repeat in 2019.

APC has vowed to remain power and continue to rule. Buhari ends his terms in 2023, as a honor Buhari should use power of incumbency to make sure Tinubu succeeds him in APC and in rulership. He can start that by giving consensus to Tinubu in the party primary and call others to rally behind him. He did it in Ondo governorship election when he supported Akeredolu, he did in Osun with Oyetola. Recently he made Abdullahi Adamu a Chairman of APC through consensus.

Adamu made public statement two days ago asserting that APC is yet to zone its presidency. Coming behind him, Angola Abdullahi of Northern Elders Forum also issued public statement that rotation is dead and 2023 is open to all. These are choreographed statements reinforcing Baba Ahmed's repeated claims that North is not interested in sharing power and they possessed the capacity to remain rulers perpetually.

Why has Buhari not spoken and countered APC Chairman, to reassure his partners in APC that it is SW that should produce candidate and indeed in the person of Ahmed Bola Tinubu?

Buhari is the one betraying Tinubu, not anyone else.

Tinubu supporters must focus on the double game Buhari is playing using party to echo interests of ethnic bigots in Arewa.

Osinbajo becoming VP was involuntary and the result of diversity choice. The same diversity protocol that says the next President after Buhari must be a Christian. Muslims should not even contest primary in this cycle at all, if the agreement on rotation must hold. But if we need to walk away from that then all agreements on rotation should also go away.

It appears Tinubu did not calculate well in 2014 when he gave Presidency to Buhari. Tbe shortness of sight robbed him of VP position then, and also just about to deny him a turn at the Presidency in 2023.

If Osinbajo stepped down the parties will just find another Christian candidate. It is a violation of agreements to succeed a muslim with a muslim.

Buhari is the one betraying Tinubu, not anyone else.

Tinubu supporters must focus on the double game Buhari is playing using party to echo interests of ethnic bigots in Arewa.

OP you make it all sound so as if Nigeria is a business partnership run between two partners, Tinubu and Buhari. Politics and power are not so simplistic as you think.

You projected ACN as the partner with the most important resources in the so called partnership that formed APC. Can you recall how many states ACN had going into that agreement with other parties, in this case CPC, nPNP, APGA, etc? Did you deliberately relegate the nPDP governors, who took their states and resources away from PDP in the SS, SE and the north to give APC the balance needed to defeat PDPat the center? Your comment gave relevance to the several claims that Tinubu pocketed already the resources of Lagos and made use of it to sponsor the APC campaign nationally to secure victory in 2015.

Did you deliberately overlook the fact that CPC controlled 13 states prior to the election and ACN controlled just 4 SW states going into the election. PDP lost seven states whose governors took the party structure along with them to found APC. How is it then that Tinubu contributed more than every other person? The fact cannot be removed from him about his idea to form APC, looking at the potential or havest of votes from the north with Buhari’s northern appeal. If the idea was not put up, PMB would not be the president today. But the fact remains that if other powerful political individuals did not consent, APC would not have defeated PDP.

Now what makes you think that it is the right of Tinubu to become the next president? There are many forces at work to make presidents. The first is God himself. Shagari was an unknown politician when he won the election in 1979, defeating political heavyweights like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo and Aminu Bello. GEJ never in his life dreamt of being the state governor, but you saw the occurrences that made him the president. There are therefore, other political interests in APC and PDP who covet that position. None of them has claimed it as their right, even within the APC.

Tinubu said the presidency was his “lifetime ambition”. Now you can see the greed and his reason for getting Buhari to give him the ladder in terms of northern votes to climb to Aso rock. Politics is about interests and not friendship. Tinubu himself acknowledges it and that’s the reason he has been traversing the northern states, seeing their governors and making emergency donations to known and unknown projects. All those are tailored to get him northern votes. But the northerners as acknowledged by you, do not want to relinquish power. That’s the tragedy of Tinubu’s myopic manouvre in 2014 to set up APC. The northern politicians intend to hand over to a southerner who can serve just one term and return power to the north in 2027.

Politics is about projections and calculations and you need to study situations deeply and make the right political arithmetics. Tinubu did not do his calculations right. He thought putting certain persons into positions of power would entitle him the presidency in 2023. Those same persons are greedy like him politically and without doubt politics and power do not recognize emotions. Betrayal is a common factor. Without betrayals Tinubu would not have attained his political height today. He betrayed several other people at other times. He keeps betraying and as a politicians he will never fail to betray. He knows that he is sorrounded by betrayers.

Buhari won the north on the basis of his northern appeal and the role of his northern friends cut across political parties. Tinubu helped in the SW. Others like Amaechi and Oshiomole, etc played their roles in the SS. Ngige and Okorocha, among other played their roles in the SE. Saraki, etc played their roles in the NC. Do you want to say that they did not contribute financially? How then does coming to the center with 4 states give Tinubu that entitlement spirit to the presidency? He knows himself that he must fight for it.

You his supporters, make it look as if the rest of the nation is against him. He always knew as a politician that there would be opposition even from the president himself. That makes him the politician that he is. That’s why he has surrendered himself to face others on Election Day. All you his supporters need to do is work had and appeal to supporters of other interested powers, showing the cogent reasons why they should support your principal.

Buhari has not betrayed Tinubu. He knows that he must be careful if he wants to leave Aso rock in one piece, with a few months to go. They are all politicians, let them play their games.

You have said it all Cantonese. Tinubu urchins make it look like the presidency is Tinubus birthright. Even the north have severally told them that they gave buhari only 500k votes comparatively, but they are not listening.

Buhari has more than compensated Tinubu for the alliance.
Appointing his boys into positions where they can steal to recoup what they spent and more. Awarding mouth watering contracts to him

Many don't know that tinubu is behind most massive federal government contracts across Nigeria. Buhari has more than compensated him.

Most importantly, it's a power play going on.
Buhari will not be retiring to daura due to insecurities, he may run to London or Dubai. A tinubu presidency would ensure the last vestiges of his administration were wiped out and never to be remembered because Machiavellian Tinubu will not share his spotlight with a universally acclaimed failure who sidelined him after helping him to power.

Buhari will surely emasculate tinubu politically before he retires for his own self preservation.

I don't have time for agbero argument.

I write on fact-based data. The following is indisputable evidence that after PDP, ACN was the next most powerful party. Tinubu went into the merger with upper hand. Facts speak!

APC was formed in February 2013. nPDP joined in November 2013. The likes of Saraki and Amaechi had zero input in the merger. Their contribution was only in campaign in 2014.

See result from 2011. Governorship and Legislative.
Do you not see ACN as the most powerful party after PDP?

CPC had massive support in all of North and Buhari prwtty much carried majority win in all states in North but this was only on Presidential election. Tinubu was not on the ballot, if he was Buhari will not win all of North.

Inspite of his 12million votes and winning NW, NE and much of NC, Buhari still failed to control victory in governorship and legislative elections in those states that voted overwhelmingly for him in Presidential.

He is weak politically. When he was pushed to wall he responded that Nigeria will witness bloodshed if he lost again. cheesy

On what basis exactly should the APC zone the presidency to the SW?

You don't give a damn but you created this thread saying Buhari should have zoned the presidency to the SW grin grin

Simple question no need for long epistle. In the 2015 and 2019 elections did the SW contribute more votes to the APC than the NE and NC?

On what basis exactly should the APC zone the presidency to the SW?

Lol. I can't believe you ask the question.

Political juggernauts do not forecast win based on votes. They do so based on strength.

NE and NC did not have the strengths needed for Buhari to win in both cycles. SW was the power house.

There is my non-epistle answer. grin

Honestly, if I were Tinubu I will invite Jonathan to nominate a candidate from SS to be my VP.

Since North is angling on converting Jonathan for a consensus vote, then throw it all open. South President with South VP, forget about partnership with North. In fact forget rotation at this point.

Next President must come from South and his VP must also come from South. That or we blow the fawckng country to oblivion and everyone can return to his father village and start over with a new republic.
