Ttalk:The Igbos are the most industrious tribe in Nigeria. They're well capable to be president of Nigeria and I believe they'll do well. But they should earn it like others. That's politics, if the Yorubas didn't work for the APC during the last 2 polls(2015 and 2019) there would be no questions about zoning it to the South or Southwest being the preferred beneficiaries. They earned it! The GEJ admin was benevolent to the Southeast and South south. The Yorubas did vote for GEJ too, he was a lucky guy, the whole country fell for his "I don't have shoes". But the Yorubas didn't probably do as much as the Igbos, even then, they didn't deserve the GEJ treatment. But no one said a thing until he was booted out! Then Yorubas suddenly became traitors. What honor is there to have what you did not earn? 1 Like |

PDP zoning their ticket to the South-East negotiable. APC ticket matter is a distraction. The real matter is PDP and that can never be swept under the carpet. That zone practically served them slavishly for the past 24 years. 1 Like |

The West has been a problem to the rest of the South. They are the reason North has no regard for the South anymore. In 1999, it was the same East and South South that formed the majority voting bloc that delivered an Obasanjo Presidency while his kit and kins refused to vote their own How much did the Yorubas sow in PDP to have produced a two term President. South East also constituted the majority voting bloc for Jonathan a South Southerner all in a bid to enthrone a fellow Southerner and in the spirit of Southern brotherhood. It is the same West that resisted Jonathan vehemently for no reason. The table has turned and you see how the other South is treating the East that stood by them in the past, people are just ungrateful. With the way it is going, I see the entire South becoming political slaves to the North. Let a Northerner clinch the ticket in PDP and the West will witness the biggest political amarda of defection by the North in APC to PDP. Then let God punish them and let the drug addict clinch APC ticket and let them watch the East and South South vote the Northern candidate, for we rather go with the North than vote a disastrous drug addict the Yorubas are bandying around as a presidential material. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Emeka was only trying to act smart. IGBO man will rule this country. They are good people and no different from other Nigerians. Yes culture and communal orientation will bring subtle differences in the way we act, serve God, conduct business, relate with others but bottom-line is that we are all the same. Igbos, like others, will redefine their approach, form alliances, build bridges and they will also lead. That was how Buhari won after all the failed attempts, that's how politics work. We all grew up together, living together in the same communities and we understand our differences as different cultures which politicians are now capitalizing on for votes and agitations. The immature ones on Nairaland will grow up and all the insensitive comments will grow stale. shortIGBOman: 2 Likes |

Yorubas has so much betrayed the south to the extent Northerners don't even respect south. The only tribe that trusted the yorubas is the northerners. Even now they are drifting away... Edo and Delta their close neighbours never trusted them because of their double standard way of living. You can never see the yorubas fight any northerner the way they fought the south especially the igbos, even if a Fulani killed scores of yorubas in their land, the yorubaa will turn their aggression against their fellow southern neighbor. The yorubas don't know what they are cooking for themselves. A time will come where the whole south will sanctioned and reject to have to do anything with the yorubas. A time will come where they will be politically irrelevant in Nigeria. A time will come where the south instead of giving their vote to any Yoruba man they would rather prefer to give it to a northerner. And that time is near 4 Likes 1 Share |
