God's Old Covenant Law and Covenant, called YHWH was given by God of Israel as the National Constitution of the nation which He constituted at that particular point in time - in the land of Canaan, occupied by the descendants of Jacob, and with a promise of eternal life only to those who were of the blood of Jacob- Moses' own son didn't even make the cut.
