This is clueless. Those bike can be converted to mini plough, planter and other farm implements that can be distributed to farmers free. Only conversation is needed. Sanwo can't you think?
Aboki will start attacking farmers the more. Government is not that poor. If they want to do that they will do that without mixing it with this. It's very sensitive. They have not converted them yet, lots are being attacked in the farm. They will just turn it to rumors and killing and kidnapping will skyrocket. Let it be like that for now.

A mega citwy like Lagos State deserves a better means of transportation than Okada, and I am in full support of the ban even though this would create a little discomfort in the transportation industry.
On a long run, people would get use to it as other means of transportation would spring up to compliment the existing gap.
But my concern is about how government go about destroying these bikes.
Nigerians are passing through a very tough time and most of these guys that have this bikes I believe they do not have any other job they are doing aside this outlaw bike riding business.
To me the government would have allow them sell these bikes to the states that still encourage this means of transportation instead of destroying it in this inhumane manner.

Welcome development.
Until you're a victim you won't know.
If you leave around Dutse Kubwa axis in Abuja or you stay around Dogon gada to Kabusa axis you'll know the extent.

Abuja next pls.

Let it be on record that Afonja miscreants and supporters of the useless Druggie Tinubu initiated the destruction of Hausa/Fulani bike riders because APC has dumped Tinubu, their benefactor.

Let it be on record!!

This is cruel. Na work dem de work, no be tif. People worked hard to gather money to buy these bikes, and a lot of them are on hire purchase.
In one fell swoop, Lagos govt has just crushed the dreams and hard work of thousands of people. Where will they get money to replace this loss?

I know there are some bad apples here and there, and that people had been complaining about the growing menace, but you should give the majority law-abiding ones fair warning, not just ban them one day, then seize their property the next. It would be something if government compensated them for the loss of their vehicle and income, or gave them 1 month to get out of town; it's not a crime to own a motorcycle is it? Haba, the insensitivity of governments in this country is something else.

So all the bike riders who have been feeding their families, and have been careful not to injure anyone, that have been paying all their dues, working this job because nothing else was available, what will they do now? All the investors who poured money into these bikes - just like that, all that lost.

If some of these people lose hope and start terrorizing the citizens, can we blame them?

Snitches are everywhere. Remember many of those bikes are owned by uniform men that are of northern extraction and they wil also be present there.
