We Will Mobilise Against Muslim-Muslim Presidential Ticket – CAN by SATANICALLY666: 11:11am On Jun 15, 2022
The Christian Association of Nigeria says it will mobilize against any political party and its presidential candidate that attempt to foist a Christian-Christian or Muslim-Muslim ticket the country in the general 2023 elections.

CAN gave the warning in an open letter to all presidential candidates of political parties, and signed by its General Secretary, Joseph Bade Daramola.

It urged all the presidential candidates to pick running mates of alternate religions.

“We recognise the right of political parties to decide on who becomes their candidates for general elections. The constitution and the electoral law have granted the members of the parties the exclusive right to choose the candidates that citizens will vote into political offices in 2023.

“This right calls for a deep sense of responsibility and accountability. As the umbrella body of Christians in Nigeria, we call on all the presidential candidates to choose men or women of alternative religion as their running mates.

“For avoidance of doubt, the CAN will not accept any presidential ticket that is Christian-Christian or Muslim- Muslim. This simply means that where the presidential candidate of the party is a Christian, the deputy should be a Muslim; and where the presidential candidate is a Muslim, the deputy should be a Christian.

“There should not be a situation where the presidential ticket of a political party in Nigeria, whether a major or minor party, will be two Christians as presidential candidate and running mate, or two Muslims as presidential candidate and running mate.”

I totally agree with CAN.

Under GEJ Islamic terrorist stopped at Abuja and we thought that was the worse. Under Buhari, ISWAP, an international Islamic terrorist group attacked Owo in Ondo state.

It seems the more the presidency is Muslim the more terrorist slide south of Nigeria. All right thinking Nigerians, should speak against this evil of Muslim-Muslim presidential & VP candidates

I don't think there is any need to lose sleep over a Muslim/Muslim or Christians/Christians tickets. The voting public is who will determined the outcome and eventual winner, not CAN or MURIC

Seriously CAN is loosing it day by day with ridiculous input, are they political party now? They can as well drop a candidate or register a party instead of this mess call message. Citizen will decide whom they want and you can use your pulpit to campaign any one instead of this noise making and campaign of nonsense. You could go to Inec to change that as we for all state governor too

Tinubu should nominate someone from orthodox church Ecwa or catholic. This two churches are very popular in north.

Tinubu appears to have back tracked already

But it's still in order for CAN to still hammer it

There are competent northerner Christian's to choose from

If you beleved you are popular enough yyou should go to the north as a Yoruba Muslim against fulani muslim because you saw the picture before contesting
