Moses Armstrong, Nollywood actor has been arrested by the police in Akwa Ibom State for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl. Armstrong is currently the Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom state, Governor Udom Emmanuel on Agricultural Projects.

Emeka Rollas the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, reacted to the issue as a very serious one.

Rollas disclosed that the case is being handled by the First Lady of Akwa Ibom state, Martha Udom Emmanuel, through her family empowerment and youth re-orientation path initiative.

The President of the AGN added that the allegation was a sad development, as it involves one of their own. However, he said the organisation will not deliberately ignore such a crime.

He went further to say that getting involved with a child as young as 16yrs is not what he and the association represents or would stand for. “This is a very sad development involving a member of ours, but I wouldn’t want to comment any further on this case,” he said.

He also distanced the Actors Guild of Nigeria from the awful act.
