Hello Nairalanders. Someone should please help with an explanation why sugar and other sugar containing food items don't attract attract ants these days.. Maybe am realising this late because I stopped consuming sugar long time ago.

Ants can't get access to everywhere.
If environment is clean or has certain insecticides, ants cant travel there.

Recently houses and roads have interlocking stones leaving little or no habitat for insects.

No ants in your house! lights out.

Because, just like u, ants too have discovered that too much sugar is not good for their health, it causes diabetes in ants and also reduces their libido to mate(fucck).

I don't know the kind of sugar you are buying. The ones i see , when left out in the open are soon crowded by ants.

SUNOLA sugar is the brand dt needed 2 be pounded with mortar and pistle before use.

Change the brand. If it is the same sugar you were buying... means the sugar is no longer organic/natural. Maybe high fructose corn syrup cubes or some other artificial sweetener. Ants and other insects do not go to such products.... they go to natural products. Same with fruits ... should you buy bananas.... pineapples.... watermelons from like Shop Rite ... most likely they are GMO ... when ripe you will not see flies nor bees around them... nor ants. The fruits will remain... and soon break down to a pool of water....still no flies. Meat the same. But should you get same fruits... natural.fruits... they wl all attract flies when ripe... and watermelon will even attract bees. They sense that natural sugar in the fruits and will go after it. Meat.... always flies swarming natural meat... but never be around meats like these overnight chicken or cows. If you see flies not swarming certain stuff .. and they should ... know it's not natural... not good for your health.
