There is nothing abnormal about her story. NPF are known for everything that defies normalcy

The only confusing part was an a jurisdiction in Gbagada, carrying out a raid in VI. But still, nothing is impossible with the NPF

Asides that, no be today police dey carry person

You don't seem to understand how those special units of police work.

The lady said it was anti-cultism unit that arrested the boy and that is a special police unit just like the disbanded SARS. What they do is wear their special unit jacket over any mufti, they carry their guns, enter their van/bus/sienna and go all around the state picking people up. Their operation is no different from the disbanded SARS unit.

A friend of mine was once arrested by SARS and because he didn't have enough cash acceptable to them, they kept him in their vehicle while raiding from one part of the state to another. At some point they threatened if he doesn't call people to send him money, they will just lock him up at any random police station and he will be classified as a criminal.

Those special units no dey follow any jurisdiction o. Na only those Ekelebe wey dey wear regular black cloth dey arrest u and keep u in their own station where ur relatives can easily come to bail u.

As teenagers my friend came home at night from his school in Unilag late and drunk. While knocking the gate, Police parked beside him in their Faragon and asked him what he's doing he said this was his father's house and trying to get someone to open the gate for him

While that was going on, the family opened the gate and confirmed he is their brother and lives here. The police searched him found nail cutter in his pocket and alleged that he wanted to Rob his father's house in front of everyone while dem dey tell them he is our brother/son

Next thing straight to Afonka police station and they were going to transfer him to area G until his parents parted with money about 10 to 15k to bail him out

Even his uncle that was a lawyer told the parents to pay quickly because once they transfer him to Ikeja. ANYTHING can happen. That anything literally means anything including death

Glorious--gbola defends most of the ills of this country/gov most times, and I can't help but wonder why.

Nigerians care too much about perception. The funny thing is they don't try to change the narrative, but get bitter and petty when someone abroad or someone rich point out the flaws in the country. They know what you're saying is right, but they don't want you to say it as a rich person, foreigner, or a Nigerian living abroad "because you're not one of us".

Perception is everything. Pragmatically, perception is a stronger determinant factor in the marketplace of interpersonal interactions than reality. You are judged squarely based on the perception of you. It's a global thing.
Even on this thread, our perception of the next person influences how we interact with them, never mind if that perception contradicts reality.

There's nothing we've said about the Nigerian Police that Black Lives Matter and Antifa activists haven't said about U.S. cops. So much so, much of the world presume if you're Black, you're a game sport waiting to be shot dead by racist cops, not minding actual statistics I've read on the U.S. Justice Department website proves otherwise. But that's what perception does.

Nobody said you shouldn't criticize the Nigerian system and the putrefying stench of misgovernance oozing from it. But reveling in the ridiculing of your country (not the system or its leaders) publicly should never be the norm.

Trump has ridiculed everything Washington D.C. stands for. He calls them corrupt. Elon Musk posts every other hour about the embezzling of public funds in D.C. So much so they created D.O.G.E. focused entirely on combating bureaucratic corruption.
Ilhan Omar shits on the U.S. system every other day.

Regardless, even as these people continue to posts the flaws of the American system, they NEVER ridicule America itself.

South Africans have Facebook groups dedicated to mocking their legislators. Jacob Zuma gets insulted daily. They talk about their high crime rates, systemic poverty, corruption... But you'd never find them ridiculing their South African identities.

Yes, Tinubu is a crook, Obi is dishonest, Akpabio is two-faced, Atiku epitomizes corruption, Donald Duke is con artiste, Kwankwaso is an extremist... And on and on. We can agree or disagree depending on your partisan stance.

But these people are the Nigerian system. They aren't your identity. Your identity is Nigeria and you should marry the idea of:
- Holding the system accountable and háting its enforcers, and;
- Reveling in your identity as a Nigerian.

How's this difficult? How does Tinubu, Obi, Atiku or Kwankwaso, or the corrupt Nigerian police diminish or elevate your identity as a Nigerian? At the basics, you are simply a Nigerian - your identity.

There's no way the African player that scored a hattrick in a major club competition final isn't going home with the award...the only African player that could have posed an upset is Salah and he's not among the nominees.

As funny as this sounds, I witnessed something similar the day I was arrested.

I had already accepted my fate and was contented being driven around in their bus while they were looking for more people to fill the bus. They got to a place and jacked one guy from behind. The was right in front of his mum's shop. The mum came outside and was shouting that he's her son and has not committed any crime but the officers would have none of it. They asked her to come to station to bail him next day. grin

It was much later when we all landed in the cell, the guy was gisting us that he had just returned from Eko Idumota that evening and was only at his mum's shop to assist her close so they can both go home together . I felt like laughing at that point , but my own predicament would not allow me laugh.

Hakimi has no claim to the title at all.

I think Lookman will pick up the award

Even if salah is there lookman was way ahead of them last season
This season it might be between lookman and salah, who ever finish strongly

Being Nigerian can end at anytime. Some people were born Yugoslavian but today are no longer Yugoslavian. I think there is a player I think Stankovic who played for 3 countries at world cup. Yugoslavia Serbia and I think Montenegro

So being Nigerian can change, what cannot change is being Yoruba Ibo or Hausa

I dey tell people here say our experience with Naija police in our days prepared us for US police, Any Nigerian that grew up in Naija and dealt with Naija police, should not be having problem with Abroad police. And that was what Kemi said, when compared to Naija police, US police are angels.
I have seen a Naija policeman just returning from patrol and so drunk that his colleagues were scared he might kill them and they locked in in the cell for like 2 days to clear his eyes. Imagine the fate of those civilians who encountered him outside just before he returned to station

These days with phones maybe police still dey exercise restraints imagine the days without phones, Police fit carry you for Fadeyi, No one will know where you are until they release you or might never release you. No ID nothing.

One of the guys killed in this story was someone I knew from a distance

I always find it amusing that most major police station always have one drinking joint or beer parlor close to the station where u will always see the officers drinking during working hours .

Even the popular Area A command headquarters (Lion Building ) , u will find officers with guns on their laps drinking and smoking before going on raids. Those people can kill someone mistakenly when they are under the influence .

That’s why I’m not in support of giving Road safety hubs because those ones too will start dropping bodies ni
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by airmark(m): 2:53pm On Dec 16
Leak ko, leak ni.

The only player that could cause problem for Lookman is Adingra as he has also landed in Morroco. Lookman's cousin, who is now in Morocco assured of a win as it seems they have already got the hint.

Senior Houthi official Nasser al-Din Amer tweets after the missile launch from Yemen: “Traffic at Ben Gurion Airport has been shut down, and it will continue as long as the Zionists persist in their aggression in Gaza and Syria.”
