I don't even understand the comparison and it's all agenda... when Nigeria removes subsidy and petrol is 800 per litre.... car owners will spend close to 30grand per week for petrol on a small car.

The V6 owners should just buy bust tickets and park their vehicles......

P.S The 1dollar to 14 Cedis is the official rate... don't know if Ghana got black market like us

It is correct. Since Ghana redominated their currency in 2007 or so, they removed three zeros from their money.

That 1400 in the real sense is 140k.

The naira is a stronger currency to the cedis

Fuel price in Ghana is very very high.

That's why smugglers buy cheap petrol along the border towns and go sell to our neighbors making unprecedented profits.

We are basically subsidizing for ourself, our neighbors and smugglers.

The post is saying 1400 cedis is 72000 naira but that they spend 1400 cedis fueling their car a week. It is almost impossible to buy this much fuel a week in Nigeria except you drive interstate.

Essentially, if you have 1400 cedis in Ghana and I have 72,000 in Nigeria, I'm richer than you.

Actually, probably has to do with Nigeria petrol being too cheap....... I once spent $100 to fill my tank and the difference is just the poverty in Ghana.

Nigerians should brace up cos it will be worse for us when subsidy is removed

1400 cedis is around 42,000 Naira using the same google exchange rate

Without subsidy, filling a 60 litre car at 800/litre will cost #48000......... I've been trying to google price of petrol in Nigeria now as I no even know lol

That's what I'm saying. Our fuel is cheap.

Nobody will remove fuel subsidy until we have enough refineries to locally produce the fuel we need for local consumption.
