These are private bodyguards carrying same type weapons the folks protecting the president are carrying, they are not SSS operatives.

The police and Army don't use that weapon.

Most security personnel(SSS,POLICE, ARMY e.t.c) voluntarily provide their service/s to their MAN OF GOD when needed.

Either as escort or guard.

Whatever happened to the holy spirit. Many Pastors move about with armed personalities. I guess that's what is in vogue now. I even know of a Known Pastor that move about with armed Soldiers. The Soldiers will be armed to the tooth and ready to flog anybody that dared come close. My God, this is really the End Time.

No private bodyguard or security company are allowed to carry waepns in Nigeria.

In most cases normal security personnel (Police,MOPOL,SSS) are allowed to mingle, with civilian security men.

This is common in Bank, Telecom, Oil companies andEmbassies .

The Army uses AK 47 except for the Guards Brigade and NDA in training which they use FN Rifles

Whilst i am not providing advocacy for the G.O, there are a few things we have to understand without jumping to conclusions.

Pls note that even if the G.O. rejects armed security men at venues where he is preaching in Jos, the governor who is the chief security officer of the state and the National Security Adviser will still detail armed security overtly or covertly because the backlash of him be killed can engulf the nation in flames because of repraisals & counter repraisals so lets not be too quick to judge and conclude

In Nigeria most State Security Personnel(Police, Army e.t.c) either Muslims or Christians volunteer their the services to their cleric or religious leader.

They see it as service to  GOD.

Check out  their (cleric or religious leader) Motorcade you will always see official Police van with armed personnel.
