Fani Kayode berates AU over silence

Depressing video clips of the horrible treatment being meted out to Nigerians and other fellow Africans by Morocco and Libya have been trending on social media in the last few days.

In one of the clips, a sea of human beings lying on each other can be seen with armed security men stepping over them.

In one of the clips, one of the victims was being lifted, but he could not move. The white of his eyes was showing and his mouth was open. He appeared to be lapsing into unconsciousness either through sickness or following a severe beating.

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who saw the clips has spoken out condemning what he called ‘the inhumane treatment of Nigerians in Morocco by the country’s policemen.’

Fani-Kayode made the condemnation in a video he shared via his verified Twitter handle on Saturday.

He has indicted the African Union and the Nigerian government of being complicit for being silent on the attack on Nigerians and compatriots from other Sub-Sahara Africa.

The former Minister expressed worry that Nigerian government officials in Morocco were making what he described as spurious defence of the actions of the Moroccans.

He noted that the bottom line of the issue was that Nigerians were being treated like animals, which is not acceptable.

He said, “Our brothers from the Sub Sahara African black African brothers were beaten like dogs, some killed, some beaten into a coma and some tortured. They beat our people, they strip them bare, they toss them around like Sallah rams and Christmas turkeys.



“2000 African youths lying on the floor, a sea of bodies and they proceeded to beat them and torture them in the sun like animals. That’s what the Moroccan subjected our people to.

“Sadly, it doesn’t stop there, it gets worse and it goes much further.

“The truth is there’s a policy that has been adopted between the European Union – that is Southern countries in the European Union, Spain, France and those countries on the Mediterranean and the North African countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Libya,” he said.

Sadly my brother based abroad went thru same process and my late dads was sold just to bail him out.

I rather suffer and hustle in naija raised tangible funds and pay my flight ticket with pride to any destinated country of my choice.

These are the type of men that want their women to be submissive to them. Spits. How I wish I was there, I would have joined the Moroccan police in flogging them, since they have no shame and respect for themselves.

When they get there, instead of respecting themselves, they would indulge in all manners of crimes and atrocities and still chase after their host women and start insulting African women, calling them baboons and monkies. Spits.

North African countries fancy themselves as Europeans and treat fellow Africans as scum. This is one area AU can assert its usefulness.
