Infrastructure Or Production, Which Comes First? by Vulturereloaded: 8:26am On Jul 03, 2022
I have read severally, where people try to bring peter obi down over this topic. Simply because obi prioritises human investment before infrastructure.

This is like asking farming and food, which comes first. Some will say that you need to feed to have energy to go to farm. But then, what will you eat, if it is not produced from the farm?

According to the bible, in Gen 3 vs 23, it reads.

therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.

Man must till the ground before he can feed.

So Peter Obis ideology goes like this.

1) invest in the people ( education and health)

2) The people become productive in manufacturing, trade and commerce.

3) Through the productivity of the people, both human and financial capital is generated for infrastructure.

For those that believe infrastructure comes first and not the people, i have this question for u.

The roads and the trains contracts awarded to Chinese, are they built by the chinese infrastructure or the chinese people?

Tinubu and Buhari that travel abroad for treatment, do they travel because of the infrastructure of the hospital, or the brain of the health professionals?

Owning a rolls Royce is good, but if you dont know how to drive, the rolls royce becomes a furniture. No matter how much you admire it, it will not move.

Even if you bring the best equipment in the hospital, if the doctors are not trained well, people will still die.

So the Chinese we go to borrow from and the British we go for treatment, invested in their people first, and their people produced both the materials and manpower for infrastructure.

A perfect example of what happens when you put infrastructure first before the people is this;

NIGERIA NEEDS TRAINS AND RAILS.

1) We go to the chinese for funding.

2) Chinese people produce the materials

3) Chinese people are flown down to Nigeria to build at a price.

4) The Chinese People now train our own people on how to use the train.

You notice the role the chinese people play from production to installation to training? Our own is just to sign that we are owing China this amount of money and start paying them.

Now, because we have failed to invest in our own people, we bomb the trains and kidnap the users for ransom.

Then we have to go back and bring the Chinese People to repair the trains that our own people destroyed

Have you asked yourself why the chinese are not bombing their own trains and kidnapping the users?

Have u asked yourself when people are not kidnapped on the beautiful roads in dubai?

The answer is simple. They invested in their people before infrastructure.

Of what use is the good roads and trains, if people cant use them without being killed or kidnapped?

Obi Never said infrastructure is not necessary, but borrowing to invest in infrastructure and neglecting the people is counter productive.

Now we are paying twice for the train we have not used for over a year. And the chinese that invested in their people are benefiting.

It is the people that make a country and not a country that makes a people. If you move Nigerians to Dubai and Move the Emirates UAE to Nigeria, in 10 years, we will be traveling to Nigeria for vacation, health, education etc and abandon dubai.
